Hillary’s e-mail defense is ‘total BS’: former State Dept. officials [more details]

...Such messages contain sensitive “keywords” distinguishing them from unclassified information, even if the material didn’t bear a classified heading as she claims.

The secretary would have known better, the department officials say, because she was trained to understand the difference when she was “read in” on procedures to ID and handle classified information by diplomatic-security officials in 2009.

Clinton also went through a so-called “read-off” when she left office in 2013. In that debriefing, security officials reminded her of her duty to return all classified documents, including ones in which the classification status is “uncertain,” which would have included the e-mails stored on her private server — which she only this month turned over to authorities. The read-off would have included her signing a nondisclosure agreement.

“Once she resigned as secretary, she needed to return classified documents and other government-owned documents, which in this case would have included the server,” veteran Diplomatic Security Service Special Agent Raymond Fournier said....

Both e-mails were classified TS/SI — Top Secret/Special Intelligence — and required the nation’s highest security clearance to read. SI is a control system within the supersecret designation known as Sensitive Compartmented Information.

SCI intelligence, which if leaked can cause “grave harm” to national security, is tightly controlled and usually kept in hard-copy form in bound books numbered and stored in highly secure “read rooms” known as SCIFs at department headquarters in Foggy Bottom. Before entering, cleared officials are required to place cellphones, BlackBerrys, iPads, laptops and other electronic devices on a shelf outside the monitored facilities. TS/SCI material is transported between SCIFs in locked bags carried by special couriers.

Clinton aides, however, put it into electronic form....

I do wish (if I am remembering this correctly) that I had kept track of the articles back in 2009 and 2010, and possibly into 2011(?) that made mention of the Zippy Admin having told Hillary, and most everyone in Zippy's Admin, that using private email for State Department communications was expressly forbidden.

They let the story get out that they made the directive/warning, more than once, and one time it was linked to someone having pointed to what was going on, saying "this ain't right" and that story make it into the press.

Zippy responded. With words. Like words alone without the necessary and called for follow-up are going to do the job, get it done.

There was more than one blip of notice about this mixing of emails issue.

It's like Hussein knew all along, too.

And if he didn't know, then he FAILED to properly mind the store, and so there's another name that could be added to the list of who is to blame in addition to herself.

Am I the only one (I can't be the only one) who saw the creature as one of the worst things to ever happen in, and to office of Sec.S (that I know of) in this nation's entire history?

Wasn't it obvious from first mention of it, how it was going to be?

A President's greatest exercise of power is through who a PoTUS appoints to office to (supposedly) serve the nation.

Zippy's appointments have been enemies of the working man, and of just about everyone and everybody who dared utter a bad word about his Zippy, the I Won -ness.

For a person who is supposedly astute on selling her image, she sure seems tone deaf on the optics of that suit. But then again, maybe she is just subliminally rubbing it in our noses that her view is that she will never wear that color unless she picks it out.

Being a veteran of the intel community, the security professional quoted in this story is 100% correct on the training and also the penalties of the mishandling of classified documents, no matter their level. The description of the physical handling and chain of custody REQUIREMENTS is not negotiable as are the penalties.

As it appears and she is not presented with a government issued orange suit, then we have unquestionably lost the Republic.

The consensus here all along has been that her story is total BS. Glad to see it elsewhere.

I wouldn't be surprised that she had access to couriers that could bring her SCI material on a 24/7 basis. For her to claim she didn't knowingly handle classified material in that server means she is either lying, or amazingly incompetent. In addition to the crimes she committed it shows she is unqualified for any future government service.

The reason the government compartmentalizes information like this is that from looking at the data one can determine the source. That makes her email server an extremely grave vulnerability the entire time it was running.

It looks like the media has finally gotten tired of being treated like dirt by Hillary.

How did they digitize it if it has hard copy read only, with no electronic devices allowed in the read room? Does Huma have a photographic memory, was Sandy Burgler called in?

Senior positions like SOS have special access; note the article says “usually kept”.

Hillary probably thought the files would be more handy to access if they were online.

Trouble is, the Chinese and Russian hackers agreed.

How did a secure server send a TS email to her unsecured account? My understanding is that the sender would be prevented unless specifically overriding the security stop. Who were the senders?

How did Hillary get away with a private server for all those years without the FBI stepping in and shutting it down?

Like Watergate, this mess has many layers, many unanswered questions, and will take a long while to play out.

And at this point, it’s still rising, not diminishing.

Pretty sure that Huma would have forwarded on to her Muslim Brotherhood people about the names of the Benghazi killers that were being searched for by our military!

HUMA is a Muslim Brotherhood agent WITH Hillary's knowledge and Blessing!!!

By the time the FBI is done with the investigation, it won’t matter. Even if all the prosecution does it prove she was too stupid to know, that seals her fate. And it’s all about 12 jurors, a judge, and lawyers in the courtroom and the press. The division of the FBI that is doing the investigation investigates of all things is espionage. So I think this a lot more than storing top secret documents on an unsecured server.

We shall see what soon what this is all about

In short, the Democratic National Committee knows Hillary is damaged goods and are looking to push her out of the way for a better candidate.

Here's the problem: all the viable candidates left (Jim Webb, Joe Biden, Al Gore, and Elizabeth Warren) are over 65 years old. People forget Barack Obama was only 48 when he was elected in 2008; they really do need a younger candidate now.
