Trump shapes Republican debate, makes rivals vice presidential prospects

With his popularity soaring after a weekend rally that drew more than 30,000 supporters, Donald Trump on Sunday took aim at President Obama, Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton and his own party rivals as he continued his unlikely ride atop the Republican presidential field.

The real estate mogul’s rise has left other Republican presidential candidates on the defensive on immigration and other issues, and some contenders are even publicly floating the notion of serving as Mr. Trump’s vice presidential candidate.

In an interview on ABC’s “This Week” program Sunday, Mr. Trump defended his plan to build an impenetrable wall separating the U.S. and Mexico, saying the Obama administration is unable to address the problem because of sheer incompetence.

“I’m going to get great people that know what they’re doing, not a bunch of political hacks that have no idea what they’re doing, appointed by President Obama, that doesn’t have a clue. I mean that man doesn’t have a clue,” Mr. Trump said. “People are walking across the border right now, right in front of these great people that we have. We have wonderful Border Patrol people. They can do their job, but they’re not allowed to do the job.”

Being a BIG business under democrats might be better. They are more cronyish. Why are the rich getting richer right now? Right or wrong, it’s a game Trump played to grow his holdings. He knows the system. We don’t need a boyscout leader. Ned Flanders isn’t getting elected this time around.

Maybe he would win easily with Oprah, but I do not think he is going to run with Oprah!

"Wow! People are twisting themselves into pretzels for this guy. Apparently the democrats had no hand in the crash of 2008... Wow again!"

Yes. That's pretty much what was said, but that was only one of many radical socialist replies lately. My guess is that they assumed that no one was reading those replies but me.

It's weird, alright. All I can tell you, is that the links and quotes posted by us less "passionate," more analytical, real conservatives are not a conspiracy perpetrated against Hillary by George H. W. Bush.

;-D

I’m sure he’ll pick someone much more reliable on her conservative values, like Kelly Ayotte.

Jeb as Trumps VP—No Way. Cruz or Carson will get the nod. Trump wants good people to help him—he will need them because what he will be doing will face stiff oppostion from the Leftist Progs and Media Hacks. Look to see Hollywood make films about Trumps Assassination and impeachment. Comic Books will show Superman crushing Trump and other things worse. They will try to make him look stupid—like they did Sarah Palin. They will fail.

Is that the "gang of eight" Kelly? McCain's buddy.

Kelly Ayotte’s Amnesty Folly

Then we owe an apology to Rubio. Moreover, how strong would Trump's illegals policy be if Kelly is his Veep.

“Drug smugglers easily scale high wall”

Or fly drones over it. But tell us how an Illegal family with young kids and pregnant mom will scale it (hint, all they have to do is simply walk across now).

I agree with Trump. Bush was running things and DIDN’T DO JACK to stop. He just saw low interest rates and good enough growth. He was CLUELESS as to what was going on. He figured the good times would just continue forever.

A LEADER would never sit back silently when banks are making $500,000 explosive loans to people that are lucky to make $50k in a year.

I refuse to support Republicans when THEY screw up.

I agree and Ronald Reagan also had difficulty early on getting accepted by the GOP (they preferred George Bush). Eventually everybody came around and we had a great eight years.

In retrospect, Reagan should never have selected Bush as a VP. Thirty-five years later and we are still dealing with Bushes.

Add a picture of Whoraldo and that other queer at Fox, the one who wears false eye lashes and rouge. Can’t think of his queer bait name right now.

I wonder if Trump finds it icky nowadays hanging out with "ultra conservatives" who were against bank bailouts.

It stands to reason, based on security concerns and tickets handed out that someone knows specifically.

I’m a Cardinal fan and watch all their games. At every game they announce exactly how many are in attendance. They don’t say, “about 45,000, they would say, 44,773 in attendance tonight.

We’re thinking along the same lines.

The best thing a President Trump can do, after naming his cabinet, is call them together and announce: “This is the purple book (of political appointments). I will NOT nominate anyone for half these jobs. Come back in 3 days with your list of cuts.”

My choices for cabinet:
State - John Bolton
Treasury - Steve Forbes
Defense - Colonel Allen West
Attorney General - Andrew Napolitano
Interior - Ted Nugent
Agriculture - merge into Commerce
Commerce - Sarah Palin; eliminate waste and overlap
Labor - merge into Commerce
HHS - Carly Fiorina
HUD - eliminate
Transportation - merge into Commerce
Energy - eliminate
Education - eliminate
Veteran Affairs - Gary Sinise
DHS - Rudy Guilani
CIA & NSC - Colonel Oliver North
Press Secretary - Ann Coulter
