MONETA, Va. (CBSNewYork/AP) — The NYPD is stepping up patrols at media outlets following the deaths of a CBS affiliate reporter and cameraman who were fatally shot during a live broadcast in central Virginia.
WDBJ-TV reporter Alison Parker, 24, and cameraman Adam Ward, 27, were shot and killed shortly after 6:45 a.m. Wednesday while conducting a live interview at the Bridgewater Plaza shopping mall in Moneta, the station’s general manager, Jeffrey A. Marks, said.
