A four-year investigation has concluded that officials of the solar company Solyndra misrepresented facts and omitted key information in their efforts to get a $535 million loan guarantee from the federal government.
The company's collapse soon after getting federal backing provided ammunition to lawmakers and other critics who portrayed President Barack Obama's economic stimulus program as wasteful government spending. The company's failure likely will cost taxpayers more than $500 million.
"In our view, the investigative record suggests that the actions of certain Solyndra officials were, at best, reckless and irresponsible or, at worst, an orchestrated effort to knowingly and intentionally deceive and mislead the department," the IG's report said.

It’s not as though they had to lie to obama to get the half-for-Solyndra-and-half-for-Obama gift. Once again, we’re being asked to believe that obama is easily hustled instead of being in on the lying, fraud and theft.
What a bunch of crap. It wasn’t the administration’s fault for making a loan that was stupid on its face? It is not relevant even if the poor little dears were lied to. It was a stupid loan made for political reasons.
Scooter Libby lied to a FBI agent (that is what the agent said and the only evidence was the agent’s hand written notes). Scooter went to prison. So why not these thieves?
The IG and staff should be given the NSS Award (No Sh** Sherlock) for taking 4 years and lots of taxpayer money to reach this conclusion. What difference does this report make if none of these politically-connected criminals go to prison and forfeits their assets?
