We’ve got to get rid of the professional political class,

I really want Trump to bring Cruz along with him in this.

I thought he would because he needs someone familiar with DC to help him with the protocols, etc amongst the Senate and such and I do believe Cruz will end up somewhere in the mix. But I think for VP he may end up with Fiorina since he’s already ticked off the liberal females - he needs a woman to show he’s not a misogynist.
...........................................................
DEFINITELY NOT Fiorina! No way will Trump, a winning businessman ever pick a loser like Fiorina just because she’s a woman. What in the devil is wrong with people? The best female is Palin. BUT I don’t think that at this time in our history...at war with the Muslims...we should even consider a woman anywhere near top dog. Fight fire with fire! We need a man with gonads to take on the whole world at this point and that’s the truth of the matter. He should be backed up by another bright bulb in a dark room. I don’t care if he is or is not a “misogynist.” I dealt with men in business in a man’s world all my life. Being a woman may have made it a little tougher at times, but so what! It just made the results more fun.
I am sick and tired of feminist whining. Nobody owes anybody anything because of their sex. The only thing that should count is intelligence and talent.

Totally agree on this. Cruz’s brilliant legal mind and talent is his greatest asset and one Trump would value.

hat Trump would select Cruz as his running mate is in my opinion a ruse by Trump and/or his supporters...

Why would it have to be a ruse? Good grief.

I don’t think Cruz can get the nomination with Democrats and “Moderate” Republicans voting against Conservatives. Hasn’t happened in 32 years.

Trump has the CEO experience and seemingly good instincts. Cruz would be a great asset to the ticket.

He’s well grounded with SCOTUS and Congressional experience. He’s a great debater.

I view this as a dream ticket. Trump gets them in. Cruz picks up on CEO techniques. Trump serves one or two terms. Cruz serves two. Then he moves on the the SCOTUS.

What’s not to like?

........................................................

AGREED.

Does he? Yes. Will he? Probably.

Doesn’t change the FACT that liberal republicans put winning with a liberal over winning with a conservative. Sure Trump is better than most up there. He ain’t better than Cruz. And he isn’t more conservative.

So people just need to stop lying to everyone about their conservatism. They are moderates. So be it.
........................................................
I disagree. I am a 100%conservative and nobody can question that,BUT I am also realistic and think Cruz needs some seasoning. For all his brilliance and all his talent, he has made some major mistakes. He needs a mentor and Trump just might be that man. I don’t think Cruz can win but I do think Teump can win and believe the two men can work with each other and would do so for the good of the country. We know Trump can win and carrying along Cruz with him would be the best of both worlds. They are BOTH fighters, patriots, and plenty smart and that’s what we need right now. The dummies have run this country for far too long.

I’d question the conservatism of anyone that can say with a straight face that Cruz has made major mistakes while ignoring the history of mistakes/positions by Trump. Because Cruz does not have a litany of liberal positions on his record/history. So for a person to put a guy flooded with liberalism up as some mentor to a man that is rated in the high 90th percentile, well, conservatism isn’t the word I’d be using. Inexplicable would be the word I’d be reaching for.

Obviously you’re not very good at weighing positive factors and their effect on your objectives. Please read Trump’s Art of the Deal. Maybe it will help you understand that a pure conservative doesn’t have the wide appeal that a moderate and a conservative together have and what we want to do is WIN! The future of the country depends on winning this election or seeing America destroyed forever. Nobody is more die-hard straight line than I am, but cutting your own throat doesn’t lead to anything but losing. We have to see that Cruz CANNOT WIN. BUT, someone like TRUMP CAN WIN because the country is bloody well fed up and doesn’t want any more “Politician” rule. When the winds blow in the right direction, why in heaven’s name sail against the wind?

Here’s some perspective for you.

Conservatism is a thing. Like Catholicism or membership in a fraternal group like the Elks. In order to be part of that group, you have to uphold and believe in the tenets of that group. Otherwise you’re simply lying about what you are and what you believe.

Conservatism is also a philosophy. One shared and built on by the founders of the country and one that has roots that go back to the dawn of civilization. Nowhere in that is any edict to elect liberals with more flip flops than John Kerry.

Now you are either a part of that by adhering to the principles of it or you aren’t. You don’t get to change the rules by pretending, like the AI kid and the Blue Fairy, that if you want something bad enough and say “Please Blue Fairy” half a million times, it simply ‘is’. Conservatism is not and never was about wishful thinking but about hard truth.

Trump has some very good points. Cruz has more. Trump has a touch of conservatism. Cruz is built with it at his core. You wanna know why ‘Cruz can’t win”? People like you that repeat those words like a mantra and spreading that idiocy. A year ago you were the same people laughing at the idea a thrice divorced ex Democrat would ever get right wing votes based on conservative values and yet here we are.

A year is a long time. Don’t tell me ‘Cruz can’t win’ unless you know it, not think it. And with the example above, you don’t ‘know’ squat about the future. But you can participate in and create self fulfilling prophecies.

Now if you can point out a single incorrect statement above, please do so with a complete explanation as to why because frankly, I am sick to death of people telling me I’m wrong and then providing ZERO proof of their assertion while bulling ahead with liberal nonsense.

Why don’t we just build a fence? Then there wouldn’t be any need for a warning system, because no one would be able to just stroll across the border as they do now?

The only thing that would make Cruz not electable is the GOP Abandoning his campaign (which I fully expect them to do if he wins the Nomination) and work against him (and even then I still think he has an excellent shot at winning)

It is hard to fight the Referees and the other team at the same time.

It’s Palin redux. His gutless base abandoned him to push for more liberalism.

Thats a question to put to all the liberal Freepers that fought tooth and nail here opposing one until their savior Donald Trump bought into the idea.

How very, very odd.

I guess it is the echo effect - surrounded by people who think and sound alike people assume their numbers are higher than they really are.

"Something strange is happening."

The country is fed up with professional politicians that never do anything for the American people. They go to DC a person of humble means and leave a multi millionaire. Mean while the nation continues it's slide into swamp of third worldness.

Cruz brings nothing to the ticket as VP. Trump will pick someone acceptable to both him and the establishment, not Bush but maybe John Kasich from the battleground state of Ohio? Or maybe Rubio from the battleground state of Fla? Or maybe Carly if the Rats have a women on the ticket. No way he would pick Cruz from the reliable state of Texas. I’d love to see President Trump appoint Cruz to the supreme court. Cruz as VP would be a waste, VP is mostly a ceremonial position.
