“Something strange is happening.”
I would humbly suggest that it is the “man on the white horse” phenomenon or maybe just call it the “lone ranger” phenomenon. When people realize just how hopeless the situation is and they see that the other candidates are all just a clown show they look for a “strong man”. The odd thing is that Trump seems to be his own man, normally the strong man is just the front for the oligarchy. I make no predictions or bets on the outcome of this, I am a helpless bystander just trying to figure out how to get out of the way of falling rocks. If I had any artistic ability I would draw Trump riding on a white horse and yelling Hi-Ho Silver with Ted Cruz following on Scout and wearing long braids and a headband and all the other candidates dressed in clown costumes being knocked out of the way. Heaven help us all.

Normally 'the strong man' makes his appearance when all hope is lost - and people are grasping for straws. That's not the situation here either.
Why?
Very few people understand how bad things are... We both know the pattern Rip - and that this isn't quite it. It's possible we might be dealing with what it appears to be: a somewhat brilliant eccentric retired businessman has decided to throw his hat in the ring to help save the country.
