What I might call the rule of opposites.
He appears to be a clown and, perhaps, even not so smart because it confounds his enemies.
When his opponents finally begin to catch on, it's too late...he's won.
This is not to say that he is not an original article...he most certainly is.
But he is a fighter and he wants to win.
Americans get Trump, but his enemies are completely flummoxed.
Meanwhile Trump makes the others look like the new version of mediocrity they are. Except for one or two like Cruz and he’s having a hard time.
