There're a great many who still do not appreciate who it is we're dealing with here.

Sadly, recent events show that LaPierre didn’t know how right he was.
Social misfits will do this whether they have a gun or not. I once prosecuted one of them. His target was a nice young lady who worked at a model home, and who had turned him down for a date. So one afternoon he went to the model home office with a knife, picked up a decorative rock from the driveway, went inside and in five minutes vented years of pent up frustration over an inability to have a meaningful relationship with a girl. He bashed her in the head with the rock and then worked her over with the knife, inflicting 55 stab wounds.
The point is that even if we took the guns away from these people, they would still kill innocent victims.
