Representatives attending the UN Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) in Mexico this week have set up a structure for future conferences on gun control that include a veto-proof decision making process.

According to Reuters, representatives from 130 countries gathered in Mexico, although only 72 countries have fully ratified the treaty. They determined that Geneva will be “the seat of the permanent secretariat for the ATT” and they unanimously decided that unanimous agreements would not have to be reached on gun control decisions going forward.

This gives the body a veto-proof process for making gun control decisions going forward.

This is a treaty.

They need 2/3 to ratify.

Corker’s little faggot surrender bill does not apply.

What will become of Corker? How can he even show his face?

I’m pretty sure that the GOP is still under the mistaken belief that they have everyone fooled.

What will be interesting to see is will the GOP say that this treaty falls under Corker’s we have say so bill, because the treaty provisions of the constitution trump whatever lousy bill the stupid GOP may pass on this or that.

Great. And?

They have a veto-proof mandate to suck my .50 cal 'til the cows come home, too. Let's see which carries more "punch."

Marbury v. Madison 1803, vol 5, pg 137

It is also not entirely unworthy of observation that, in declaring what shall be the supreme law of the land, the Constitution itself is first mentioned, and not the laws of the United States generally, but those only which shall be made in pursuance of the Constitution, have that rank.
Thus, the particular phraseology of the Constitution of the United States confirms and strengthens the principle, supposed to be essential to all written Constitutions, that
a law repugnant to the Constitution is void,
and that courts, as well as other departments, are bound by that instrument.

Norton v. Shelby County, 118 U.S. 425 (1886)

While acts of a de facto incumbent of an office lawfully created by law and existing are often held to be binding from reasons of public policy, the acts of a person assuming to fill and perform the duties of an office which does not exist de jure can have no validity whatever in law.

An unconstitutional act is not a law; it confers no rights; it imposes no duties; it affords no protection; it creates no office; it is in legal contemplation as inoperative as though it had never been passed.

...Its not binding on us unless it’s approved on the Hill.

Even then it will be as binding as HRH George III’s attempt to ban the colonists’ guns and ammunition at Lexington. He discovered how binding the order was there and on the road to Concord.

May not be the end game.

May not even be the middle of the end game.

But it is the beginning of the end game.

“This is a treaty.”

Yes, and it never made it past the Senate. NOT RATIFIED!

UN needs to go back to their hole and shut up.

If the UN takes my gun. I’ll pry it from their cold dead hands.

Your arsenal must be pretty impressive to counteract cruise missiles.

Apparently the UN just can’t make up its collective mind on whether it’s better to constantly sanction and condemn Israel for existing or to try to disarm American citizens. Jackassery abounds.

And just how are they going to use Cruise Missiles. Just soot them into the neighborhood. Boy if you want to see a major uprising let them try that. Going house to house in this country is absurd.

Corpses wearing blue helmets hanging from interstate overpasses with signs around their neck saying “ sic semper tyrannis “ might give pause to the second wave of blue helmeted gun takers.

If govt somehow comes up with a (bulls**t) reason to disarm americans, and Americans resist and results in civil unrest, is the government going to call they pals in the UN to swoop in with their military forces?

When I lived in rural Michigan in the early 90's the locals would often gather for "Blue Helmet Shoots". Apparently they thought so.
