The responses in this thread are absurd.
The letter is obviously a generic form letter response from a staff member thanking for a gift of many books.
The way it is written, it would appropriate response for anyone including a satanist or atheist.
Here is the actual quote:
“His holiness is grateful for the thoughtful gesture and for the feelings which it evoked, hoping for an always more fruitful activity in the service of young generations and the spread of genuine human and Christian values,
There are two parts, one merely thanking for the thoughtful gesture and feelings evoked — thanks for the books the gift was a nice thought and I appreciate that you gave me a gift.
The second part expresses hope for the future — it says I hope in the future you do a better job serving humanity and christianity. This is an equally good thing to say no matter how “good” a christian the person is. Hey, no matter how you’ve done in the past, I hope you do a better job in the future.
No one should expect a book critique or character evaluation in a generic thank you letter for a gift of many books.
There is nothing in the quote that shows it was tailored to the person written. And it isn’t even from the pope, it’s from a staff member.
There are clear signs it is a generic form letter.
Well, it’s from Yahoo, which is very pro-homosexual. The letter sounds like a thank you, but the lesbian said she wasn’t Catholic, and said NOTHING about sending the Pope a copy of her book. Sounds like she’s trying to get her book into more schools. I bet the Catholic websites reveal the truth about this lesbian’s shenanigans.
