Businesswoman turned politician Carly Fiorina is angry with CNN. The reason? The network is likely to leave her out of its prime time debate because shes supposedly not polling in the top 10.
The only problem with that? She clearly is.
As Howie Kurtz explained on Fox News, CNN, however, is using older polls from before the first Fox News debate to assemble its top 10″ of candidates. Its clear that this is extremely bad for Fiorina, since she barely had name recognition before that debate. After it, however, she quickly surged in the polls and suddenly become a top contender.
Youd think that CNN would understand that debates actually matter and that a few weeks (let alone a few months) are an eternity in politics, but theyre having none of it. From the looks of it, the cable channel will not change its selection process. This means that Fiorina will once again have to participate in the kids table debate, missing out on the big audience that the top 10 debate is sure to draw since theyre up in prime time.
Of course, CNN could change their system in the blink of an eye, but theyll likely refuse to do so because they dont want to give in to the demands of one of the candidates says Kurtz. Well, of course they wouldnt. To the networks, this entire primary process is of course not about the actual candidates, but about themselves. Its about their ratings, their influence, their power and their reputation. Republican voters can lose, as long as the networks win.
This flies in the face of the interests of the Republican National Committee. The RNC has to learn from this debacle and make sure it and nobody else organizes future debates. Networks can air the debates - obviously but its not up to them to come up with the rules and to decide who can and cant participate.

Can’t push the war on women with women there.
i sense that they want Fiorina to go away, so they can support/promote the narrative that Republicans are male-only and “anti-women.”
Putting partisanship ahead of business. With all the good press Fiorina got from the FOX mess, she’d be a solid ratings draw to CNN, far more so than whoever is really pulling 11th at the moment.
But they don’t want her on because she’s been very effective at attacking Hillary, and dispels the myth of Republicans being anti-female.
We need her on that stage. It scares the heck out of libs that her message resonates with middle of the road Dems. She is making a difference in this campaign. Conservatives need to recognize that she is helping us.
CNN’s war on women.
Good,she is a Rino,take a hike Fiorina
Not sure they picked the right woman to go to war against.
Who cares? Fiorina is another Cheap Labor Express candidate.
Serves the GOPe right to allow the network to make the rules for their debate.
Immediately after the debate, Fiona’s numbers went way up. She lost a lot of that support as she outed herself as yet another establishment hack and people became aware of her dismal work history.
Maybe CNN sees something the rest of us done, perhaps Carly is another shillary????
If it talks like a duck, walks like a duck, looks like a duck, hummmm then it is a ——!!!
Solution would be that some of the hapless candidates ahead of her offer her their seat. That would be the, er, manly thing to do.
At least YOU get it. May she disappear soon.
I see there’s still a half-hearted effort to push Fiorina by GOPe/RNC.
Really she is of no use now.
Palin and any other conservative woman are not running, so there is no need for her to draw votes away from a conservative woman candidate.
And Hillary is falling apart, so there is no need for a female attack dog (not that there ever was, but GOPe believes that).
I’m not a fan of iCarley, but if she is in the top ten, she should be allowed to debate.
BTW, who made it into the top ten with iCarley being squeezed out?
Which is why it would never happen.
