All other rights seem to pale in comparison to fear of being killed at random or robbed in broad daylight. If a society slides into violent crime that authorities will not control,you get societies welcoming a strong man in the hope of simply being SAFE.

And the black lives matter movement members say they want to end punishment for shoplifting and minor crimes, as well as less severe punishment for blacks who commit crimes as compared to whites.

This creates a strong groundswell for a strong leader - and one that undermines everyone’s freedom in the long run.

I think that it was the Yugoslavian dictator Tito that dealt with such happenings in his country by decreeing a death penalty for anyone involved with a crime. He cut the crime wave but got worldwide condemnation for doing it his way.
