(Flashback): Sweet deal for Donald Trumps gold course (backs of taxpayers)
New York Daily News ^ | May 29, 2014 | Juan Gonzalez

In 2012, then-Mayor Michael Bloomberg gave Donald Trump control of a $236 million public golf course at Ferry Point and threw in a slew of giveaways that include a low revenue-sharing plan with the city and free water. No other city golf course enjoys these perks.

...

How many ways do you spell sweetheart deal?

Former Mayor Michael Bloomberg apparently wasn’t satisfied with simply handing Donald Trump control over one of the most expensive public golf courses ever built in this country – the new $236 million, 18-hole Parks Department course scheduled to open next spring at Ferry Point Park in the Bronx.

Bloomberg’s aides quietly added a slew of financial giveaways in the 2012 deal with The Donald that no other city golf course concessionaire enjoys, a Daily News review of Parks Department golf contracts has found.

Those giveaways include: no concession fees for four years; then decades of extraordinarily low revenue-sharing with the city; tens of millions of gallons of free water annually; even a five-year delay for Trump to build a $10 million clubhouse, his only major capital investment in the project.

Start with the greens fees, the basic charge for a round of golf; virtually all of the city’s existing 13 public golf courses charge $48 per person during weekend peak hours, higher for non-city residents.

But the new Trump National Golf Course at Ferry Point plans to charge nearly three times as much — $125 per person.

Trump’s split of revenues with the city, however, will be far less than all other courses.

The little old lady never got the boot.

Your post is typical of the anti-Trump mentality, out of ammunition and reduced to lying.

On a political scale, how do you justify putting two totalitarian systems that are extremely similar at polar opposites of the spectrum?

You have a problem with “political spectrum’s”
Maybe cannot see them clearly..

Democracy(mob rule) is the political disease that causes BOTH socialism and fascism.. and even Monarchy.

Central givernment.. rule from the TOP and not the Bottom..

A central givernment NOT LIMITED in scope, size and ability..

Which is ANY central government NOT RULED by the U.S. Constitution..
Which outlines the ONLY..... ONLY.. Government of that style and makeup..
The Only one no others have been tried.. None..

Literally NO OTHER Givernment has or can even match an American Constitutionally designed and operated Republic..

Designed and set up before Democrats even invented..
Actually democrats were invented to perform sedition and espionage even Treason on the Constitutional System...

From day one until NOW.. The US Constitution does not mention DEMOCRACY ANYWHERE.. On Purpose..

He and his father were national fundraisers for Reagan.

No reason to post falsehoods.

The lack of business sense on this conservative site, is astounding.

This is not business.....THIS is what is wrong with this nation!

Second, please show me where in the constitution is it written that the government should own, develop and finance golf courses?

YOUR admiration for this is another part of the problem.

But he’s advocated lower government spending and lower taxes for years.

LIE

Trump this week blasted Governor Scott Walker for NOT raising taxes to cover spending in Wisconsin. Walker instead, held back spending on many programs and used short-term borrowing to cover gaps in revenue.

But Trump's point was that restrained government spending and tax cuts were wrong and that keeping taxes higher to cover government spending was a better choice.

Most of Trump's attack on Walker is based on liberal sources who do not understand Wisconsin budgeting. But I am not surprised he would go to the liberal well to dish dirt on opponents.

Trump is not a man to restrain spending or hold back....he went bankrupt a few times.

Earth to Erik....Business IS the engine of this country.

How is this NOT business? Businesses across the country are given very nice tax abatements, from cities all across the country, as an incentive to bring their companies there.

Folks who are complaining about this deal - which was a great deal for NYC - are reminding me of the Occupoopers/lefties, who complain about The Man being too wealthy and holding down the workers. What they’re not realizing is the benefit to EVERYONE when jobs are produced and the local economy benefits.

Trump’s argument in that very specific case was that it would have been better not to drop the taxes and borrow more.

As far as I know the government does not now own it. Trump does. As a former landfill area he has made a world class gulf course out it. Property values in the whole area have increased. The gulf course is open to the public. You are a tough cookie if you blame Trump for any of your grievances.

What happened is that Trump bailed out the local government and made it profitable to both parties involved.

You Cruz supporters are always dressing him in he-man underwear etc. desperately trying to portray him as something he isn't and never could be...Why is that?

BTW, smart ass I'm not sure your use and alteration of that Dos Equis ad, along with using that actor, even adding quotes without permission is a wise thing for you to do. Enjoy their lawyer's letters dipshit.
