Yes-China-and on a smaller scale, the Romans built two of them in rough, cold country-Hadrian’s wall, about 100 miles long-and the Antonine wall, 39 miles-to keep the Picts and others in Caledonia/Scotland from raiding all the time. Both were pretty elaborate-mile castles and smaller guard posts manned 24-7, a deep ditch on both sides, etc.
Israel is pretty good at walls, too-Jeb might want to ask them about that stuff...
The Antonine wall was abandoned because the territory was too far for the garrison to be supplied easily-but Hadrian’s wall was pretty effective until it was breached around the late 4th century, when Rome was more involved elsewhere and it was undermanned.
But I digress-a wall can certainly be built-should be-think of the skilled and semi-skilled jobs in the trades, security work, etc that will bring, and the coyotes and narco trafficantes it may put out of business-but I’m sure that would be too sensible for someone like Jeb to consider...
