Shock Poll: 59% Back Trump On Deportation of Illegals

Immigration: When Donald Trump proposed mandatory deportation of illegal aliens, pundits and politicians on both sides of the political aisle were appalled. But on this issue it looks like Trump has the public on his side.

The fire from the right was almost as fierce as that from the left. "It's not conservative and it's not realistic and it does not embrace American values," said Jeb Bush.

Sen. Lindsey Graham called it "absolute gibberish."

Conservative commentator Charles Krauthammer called the idea "crackpot" and "morally obscene."

But the prize for overheated rhetoric goes to Hillary Clinton, who said Trump wants to "literally pull people out of their homes and their workplaces, round them up, put them, I don't know, in buses, boxcars, in order to take them across our border."

So what do these folks say about the fact that the majority of Americans back Trump on this?

The latest IBD/TIPP Poll asked 913 adults coast to coast if they "support or oppose mandatory deportation of illegal immigrants in the U.S." Not surprisingly, 87% of Trump supporters back the proposal.

What's surprising is that 59% of the overall public does as well. Mandatory deportation gets majority support in all age groups except 18-24, every income group, among both women and men, at every level of educational achievement, and in rural, urban and suburban regions.

More interesting still is the fact that 64% of independents and 55% of moderates support deportation.

Even among Hispanics, the poll found 40% backed mandatory deportation

Well, there hasn’t been anything like it on the national stage. That’s for sure.

I do believe the Schwarzenegger experience in California came close. To me it was much more a “personality” issue than Trump is though.

The moment Schwarzenegger announced on Leno, I just sat there on my couch and laughed. It was all over and I knew it.

I don’t see Trump as the same thing, because I think a lot of folks were dismissive of him. It was only after he started campaigning that they began to see in him a man that they could support.

In my own case, I was asked by a fellow FReeper several months before Trump announced if I could support him. I told them no. They suggested I should listen to his thoughts, and I said it probably wouldn’t matter. I explained that some people probably wouldn’t get my support no matter what they proposed.

And then Trump announced. I listened to what he had to say. I haven’t stopped, and I like what I hear.

I have reversed myself on Trump.

He won me over. Schwarzenegger was almost a cult following.

I voted for the guy, but I did so in opposition to Davis and Bustamante. One was a terrible governor and one was a brown separatist, who wanted to be governor.

Bustamante had been an active member of a group that advocated for the realization of Aztlan, the reconquista of the West. When asked to disavow his membership, he refused to. That should make it clear what sort he was.

If Trump is elected, it will be on the merit of his policies.

I’m not convinced that’s how Schwarzenegger was elected.

These two election cycles were/are anomalies, to be sure.

Interesting times...

With Trump we are either going to see a revival, or the waning days of a great republic.

With regard to the later, it’s what we have been witnessing long before this election.

I hope that’s not what it comes to. One way or another, with or without Trump, that’s what we are coming to.

So IMO, Trump can save us, or strike that final blow to our nation’s back.

That stat alone is enough to get Trump nominated and elected.

The way I see it word for word.

I agree. While I do not consider Trump a conservative, he is more conservative than most of the GOP candidates. His stand on the illegal aliens/immigration issues is crucial to the survival of this country.

Thanks. Seems rather obvious to us.

Here’s another missive I posted a few minutes ago.

See what you think of this.

Yes. It has to be so financially devastating for the business in question, so the owners do not even THINK about hiring illegals. Also, build the border wall. They will not come.

Great post. We do,however, actually have at least 40% of LEGAL Hispanics who do want illegals deported and effective border control; to keep their kids in school and out of the gangs. This includes both urban and agricultural areas where I have lived for 45 years and seen these demographics develop. Most are conservative, do not want to see government by cartel here and are willing to stand-up to prevent it. So hang-in there.Help may be on the way.

Not only financially painful; throw in the hard, quality time with the rattlers and cactus on the southern boarder, or the Grizzlies and hungry timber wolves on the northern boarder and you would never see another illegal alien hired for any reason in this country.

They are right. That 59% number is “shocking”. I would have expected it to be 89%.

OK with it? Not at all; I’m explaining it. It is the destruction of our country and our way of life, and completely self-inflicted by Americans who refuse to breed.

They are preventing the natural death of high-tax areas that should wither & die; it is government-imposed life support paid for by the same taxpayers that complain they can’t afford kids (they simply get the bill for other peoples’ kids instead).

Yes, unfortunately, not too many know about his past work. He appeals to many conservatives because he says some of the right things.

I have to admit that I once thought he was a good guy. That was a few years back — when I was under the mistaken impression that FAUX News supported conservative principles. Older and wiser now.

So true. Count the body bags in the Land of the Free. “Roughly” 65 million children dead since abortion legal in 1973. Now compound this by the 2.1 little boys and girls per female half that number would have birthed;plus the babies their grandchildren never gave birth to over the last 42 years. We Anglos, of all races, seem to have lost “about” 130 million American human beings along the way. Perhaps we should lay aside those “difficult” moral questions of Personhood, and when a human being is convenient enough to be recognized. Think Tax Base.Think Labor force, Social Security,Medicare, and a nearly 19 Trillion debt, Now think Demographics. We could use those missing 130 million kids today. Perhaps they are safe and home now with a Power that will not be mocked indefinitely. Maybe, just maybe we have another chance at getting this right. Let us choose carfully.

I have been ruminating about how illegal alien cartel members actually are allowed to hold the high ground along the illegal alien trails. Cartel members stand on mountaintops with binoculars and satellite radios watching out for the Border Patrol. When they see the Border Patrol coming they call the coyotes and smugglers. This is happening in plain sight and has been going on for at least since W. Bush, is anyone going to tell me that the President of the United States does not know that this is going on!

I have been reading about this for about 10 years but only now do I realize what an outrage this is. If either Bush or Obama cared they would have put an end to it right away. They would have put the Border Patrol on top of those mountains and they would have had the advantage. But no, both occupants of the White House let criminal aliens literally get the high ground giving them the advantage over the Border Patrol.

Illegal immigration is the key that opens the door to the closet with all of the skeletons in it. This country is corrupt and it comes from the top down.

Ok, you brought up a good point...

How do YOU know Trump is NOT beholden to anyone or anything???

He’s a bidnessman...Do you think he has never cut a bidness deal with no strings attached, during his rise to his station now???

His, and the worlds smartest woman CEO Carly, is in the same boat as far as I’m concerned...

Just because someone doesn’t have a political office background doesn’t mean they are clean of the DC bug...

You are right, we are way from vetting these people out...I am also sure we need to be paying more attention than to the video and sound bytes they spoon feed us from all current media sources...

Not sure enough voters at this time are looking much harder than these sources now...

It’ll come together soon enough...

Your analysis is correct. If we had courage our snipers would take out the cartel watchers on the hill tops.

This is happening up to 70 miles within our border. What an outrage.

I will never forget a congressional hearing about safety along border areas. There was an eighty year old gentleman who testified to the conditions where he lived. He said that he had to sleep with a gun next to his bed and a gun by the door. When he gets in his car he has to have a gun with him and when he rides out on his ranch he keeps a rifle with him, but even though he has a rifle with him he will take off if he sees anyone coming.

In some areas sheriff’s deputies have to be sent to the children’s school bus stops to keep them safe. Can you image if this was going on in a suburban community?
