At Wharton, Donald Trump’s Marketing Skills Make the Grade (NYTimes)

Donald J. Trump has made a few things clear to voters as he has barnstormed the country making his case for the presidency. He will build a wall; he is very rich; and he went to Wharton – the University of Pennsylvania’s prestigious business school.

Professors on campus are staying mostly mum about Mr. Trump’s presidential prospects, but when it comes to his political marketing skills some of them cannot help but appreciate his results.

“Short, clear statements are easy to process,” said Michael Platt, a professor of marketing and neuroscience at Wharton. “They do not rely on nuance or subtlety. That seems to resonate with people and possibly reinforces what I think are nonverbal signals Trump transmits, unknowingly, to the public.”

Professor Platt suggested that Mr. Trump’s celebrity and physical features – his height and his confident scowl – are exploiting ancestral mechanisms that are appealing to the general public. Studies show that when people look at a face more often, they tend to prefer it, so the attention showered upon Mr. Trump may be reinforcing his favorability.

Nah, it’s because he tells the truth which the other idiots are incapable of doing. You ever think any of them would ever call Anthony Weiner a pervert even though it’s the Absolute truth? We have classified info possibly going his way

He really cracks me up, kinda like watching Jackie Mason doing a stand up. Talking about Anthony Weiner was a classic example of an All American Man, talking about a news event, just like we were sitting around the pork barrel. Everyone can relate to what he was saying, and you’re right NO ONE else running could do that, except maybe Huckabee and Christie.

So the NYT goes fishing at Wharton to see what people say about Trump. Fair enough.

But I don’t remember anyone doing their journalistic due diligence on 0bama’s college history, including his application.

Nobody in the msm cared a whit about 0bama’s background. If anything, they helped suppress it.

My opinion of him hasn’t changed - I don’t like anything about him except that he’s pissing off the right people.

I don’t think Jackie Mason will be found around a pork barrel but I like the analogy. Got to see Jackie’s “Freshly Squeezed” show for my birthday 10 years ago.

I’ve never seen him in concert, but have listened to his concerts on CD and they’re funny. Have you heard him on Trump?

Very funny. https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=Jackie+Mason+on+trump

Was that an LSAT or his combined SATs?

Maybe the fact that citizens are tired of focus tested idiots who mouth the right buzz phrases than don't do crap might be part of it.

Then again the New York Times loves liar lowlifes like Bill and Hillary... I'd be interested in knowing WHY the New York Times loves the scummy types... was it their childhood? Or that journalist think they're sooooooooo much smarter than everyone else? Or because they're gullible? We'd like to know out here in flyover...
