Outside of the fact that, I think most, if not all, newly jobless make a sincere attempt to re-instate an income .. with the passage of time, new habits are formed, new incomes are established and new lifestyles become prevalent and it is a natural thing for man to NOT work ........ If for no other reason than God SAID you will work, and you ain't goin' by what no God you can't see and certainly hasn't done anything for YOU lately, tells you what to do

Let's adopt the German system: If you are on any kind of assistance, unemployment or welfare, you show up every morning at 7AM to clean toilets, sweep the street, or whatever the agency tells you to. If you show up for public work one out of five days, you get one-fifth of your stipend. While some people simply won't change, I think many will invest in themselves and try to find a better-paying job.
