Sorry, but I don’t care what color they were, I thought the courts had ruled that flipping the bird was free speech. The cop took a stupid act by young people and decided to go after them because they might be on drugs or have mental issues? Please she went after them because she was pissed off.
I think the same thing.
It was not a good idea but you have the right to be rude, even to cops.
On the other hand, I am always polite as can be. It just pays.
a middle finger is the briefest possible petition for redress of grievances
You are “sorry”, indeed.
You are correct.
Just don’t start out with “I’m sorry” next time, it completely undermines everything after that.
Oh, and don’t add “just my opinion” at the end either, for the same reason.
Just get in there and pull the trigger on both barrels at once. Then step back, watch the carnage, and defend your point.
If they had flipped you the bird, I’m sure you’d consider road rage and be upset if an officer that witnessed it, didn’t pull them over.
Frankly, it’s stupid behavior and that draws attention.
That’s what I thought. Of course, police officers will try to make your life miserable if you do it. If the guy had cooperated and had committed no crime, he would not be in jail.
I had a similar situation. Flashed my lights to passing motorists about a speed trap. The police officer saw me and pulled me over. He was honest about why he pulled me over and said he was going to find something to cite me on. He couldn’t and sent me on my way.
Thank you! My first thought was that it isn’t illegal to flip someone off else there would thousands of calls/complaints every hour of the day. Cop or not, disrespecting you doesn’t give you the right to retaliate, which is what this cop did. He lowered himself to the boyz in the hood who will go after anyone who “disses” them...pure thug reaction.
Agree.
My sister is a cop in another town. I happened to see her in a school parking lot one day and waved at her. She didn’t even notice me. Later, she told me she has developed a filter for waves and the like. “Too many middle fingers” and it’s best just to ignore them.
