Whenever some liberal tells me single payer is the bestest, I point out the VA abomination.
They are there for the VA funding requests at budget time. The live vets get lousy service, but tens of thousands of government bureaucrats get fat paychecks every month, and that is the most important consideration.
People in the medical profession don't get paid to give up.
The VA should never have been founded. It was our first socialist health care system. There should never have been VA hospitals or any other government-run institutions “providing” health care for veterans.
Veterans should have been given a monthly check with which to buy health insurance in the free market. The entire VA should be abolished, and veterans given a check instead.

I have notified the VA four times, in writing and on the phone, that my husband died last February. I am still receiving communications from them.
There needs to be an overhaul of their whole administration.
