Amazing how people can look at the same facts and come to different conclusions.

Ban gun free zones!

Stop plea deals for violent repeat offenders.

No parole for violent repeat offenders.

Do these things and the crime rate would fall by 80% as recidivism are the cause of the vast majority of violent crimes.

IF the stats are correct ... it is because of better operating cars being driven by better trained and operating operators and NOT by denying driver’s licenses and forbidding the manufacturing and sale of automobiles.

Exactly.

Traffic fatalities have DROPPED in the Unites States by almost 40% since 1980 and that's with a 40% RISE in population. This is due to a few significant factors:
1. Cars are safer now, we're paying a lot more for them, but they're safer.
2. Seat belt usage has gone up dramatically. In the early 1980s less than 15% of people wore seat belts, today it's nearly 90%. Part of this is due to laws, but a lot of it is because of education.
3. Drunk driving rates have dropped dramatically since MADD started in the early 1980s.

ALL of these reasons have to do with automobiles and the way people drive them, it has nothing to do with guns.

“More Young Americans Now Die From Guns Than Cars”

Boldfaced lie. Nothing but propaganda from a communist.

Mr. Diamond is, quite simply, a mind-numbed idiot. A retarded hamster could best him by 20 points in an IQ test.

Look, there are damned near 400 million guns in this country (about 100 million of which were sold since 1/20/2009 - thanks, Barkie!). They aren’t going away, period. We have to learn to live with them, even if you don’t like them.

Here’s a suggestion to Diamond and his fellow gun-grabbing statists: You want to reduce gun violence? Good, so do the rest of us. Encourage people to get a carry license AND ACTUALLY CARRY. Rip down the prohibitions against responsible adults from carrying guns in schools, etc. - you are just creating a safe work environment for criminals and crazies (the latter of whom are not stupid - they are crazy, that’s why we call them “crazy” and not “stupid”).

Do the common sense things that many states have done, states with LOTS of guns - tens of millions, like Texas - and who have seen their violent crime rates go DOWN.

Of course, neither Diamond nor his fellow travelers will listen...they are crazy, thinking that doing the same thing over and over will bring a different result.

To: I want the USA back

If you eliminate from the statistics crime committed by blacks and mexicans and only consider crime committed by white people, America has a crime rate akin to Norway or Iceland.

That is, very, very low.

Isolate gangbangers shooting other gangbangers, police shooting dangerous criminals, suicides and people using guns for justifiable self-defense and the remaining numbers would be much more indicative of what’s really going on.

Yes, he completely removes motive from the narrative, as if people are manipulated by objects, and not the other way around. His assumptions are that people have no responsibility for their actions.

Thus he equates elderly people with cancer committing suicide with young people driving recklessly.

The red line is the number of firearms in millions.

The green line is the number of fatal firearm accidents.

Oops. The red line numbers are in units of 100,000. The total at the end of 2013 is 363 million private firearms.

“Hey asshat. There are NO peer nations.”

Exactly. He completely cherry picks the nations that he compares the U.S. to.

He includes Sweden. There are a fair amount of people of Swedish ancestry in the U.S.

He ignores Mexico, even though, there are many more people of Mexican ancestry in the U.S.
