So you want a Kentucky sheriff to go to war with the United States of America and the Commonwealth of Kentucky?

Did the Commonwealth of Kentucky give authority to the Feds to make laws concerning marriage in the State of Kentucky??? If not, the Commonwealth needs to side with the Sheriff who should side with the lady in jail and defend the laws of the State...

The Commonwealth of Kentucky voluntarily joined the union after seceding from the State of Virginia. In being admitted to statehood it agreed to subject itself to the supremacy of the federal constitution and by extension the federal courts. You don't have to always agree with the federal government - I sure don't - but it's still the government.
