The eGOP did not listen to their base re McCain and Romney, it's very unlikely they would let Trump be their nominee.

I hope you are wrong, but fear you are right. This may be a fatal error by Trump and he will now be subject to GOPe dirty tricks since he has pledged not to go third party. He will also lose some of his support from people who want the GOPe destroyed as a corrupt institution that cannot be reformed.
