I listened to the interview.

I don’t think Trump fumbled anything.

Hewitt is an elite and a policy wonk.

I think Trump is into larger overall issues.

Works for me.

>>But obviously, I’m not meeting these people. I’m not seeing these people,” Trump said.

LOL. The “gotcha” media just doesn’t know how to respond to a guy who doesn’t care what THEY think of him. They believe that every candidate needs to be elected “President of the Media” before the voters get a say.

Ask me a question about all those names, and I would say, “They sound muslim. Are they terrorist leaders? If they are, I’d get the military to kill them.”

Was Hewitt running by a list of Obama’s friends to se if Trump has the same circle of friends. Good he doesn’t.

Gimme a break. I'm sick of the Mickey Mouse games the media play every election season, Hugh Hewitt included.

Why not spring a similar question on your man Yeb, Hugh? Ask him if he knows how much China's GDP either rose or fell over the past five years.

After all, we want a president who's ready to lead the nation economically and China is our no. 1 opponent.

The names don’t matter. Trump will find his General Patton to hit them hard and fast. They won’t be taking names.

“No," Trump said. "You know, I’ll tell you honestly, I think by the time we get to office, they’ll all be changed. They’ll be all gone,” he said. “I knew you were going to ask me things like this, and there’s no reason, because number one, I’ll find, I will hopefully find General Douglas MacArthur in the pack.”

Perfect answer. There is no reason or way for a candidate to know every nuance and fact of foreign policy BEFORE being elected since they don't have access to near as much information as a president does.

Why should he know names of terrorists at this point? As president, his briefers will give him all that on a constant basis. It’s his judgement, will and ability to lead that is important.

I generally like Hugh, but he’s tipping his hand about how fair he can be as a moderator.

Has he asked any of the other candidates similar questions?

Totally fair and expected question from Hewitt. Anyone who has listed to Hewitt interview people should know he would ask questions like this. Trump’s staffers are a total B-Team—they completely failed to prepare him. As for Trump, he sure as Hell should have known who Zawahiri and al-Baghdadi are.

As a disqualifier, nope. Einstein once said that he would never memorize things he could just look up. I think that applies here.

I'd rather have a President Trump who would have aides brief him on terrorist leaders than a President Jeb who would send the terrorists soothing notes in Spanish, or a President Hillary who would try to extort donations from them.

“You know, I’ll tell you honestly, I think by the time we get to office, they’ll all be changed. They’ll be all gone,”

Concise snppy rejoinder from Trump.

True enough, things are in flux

The current POTUS was lauded because he could pronounce Pakistan correctly and look where we are now.
