1989 Tour de Trump (Trump Interview)

Interview with Trump about his forner cycling race, The Tour de Trump

TOPICS: Miscellaneous; News/Current Events; Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: repositorytrump; trump
As a NJ resident, I of course remember the NJ Generals, whom Trump owned, but I forgot about the Tour de Trump. (What else could it have been called?). But what is interesting about this video is that Trump's basic make-up hasn't changed in 25 years. All the self-promotion, confidence, talking about great things, etc. were there then. About 3:45 in, Dick Enberg asks him about politics, where Trump tells him he couldn't see himself as a politician because he is blunt, speaks too straight and calls things as he sees them. Last part of video, he says he hasnt ridden a bike since he was about 7, so I guess he was right that we will never have to worry about him riding a bike like Kerry!

There’s a youtube video of an interview he gave 5 years ago with Greta Van Susteren and he sounds just as sounds now. He is warning about lost jobs and industry to Mexico, China etc. But he also said after he was asked that he would seriously consider running for President.

The Tour de Trump is what he should call the exodus of illegals from this country once he’s elected.

z taxman,

Please stop spamming the board with this same post over and over. You are now exposed as a RAND PAUL supporter. Thanks for the laughs.

Is that the Animal Farm argument? That some animals are more equal than others?

It’s stupid and annoying. It takes away from discussion.

I searched the other poster you mentioned and his history is nothing like your history. Your history is the same exact same thing over and over.

Rand had a great opportunity. He was my frontrunner before I got to know him better. He kept opening his mouth. It would be easy for me to find links to Rand Paul giving bizarre answers to the same issues you’re linking about Trump. In fact, Paul’s answer to the abortion question with David Axelrod was the last straw for me. His answer was straight out of bizarro world. This was in line with a lot of other bizarre statements made by Paul.

Again, you have a great opportunity to tell us why you support Rand Paul because I cannot come up with many reasons.

I’m not here to push Rand,he’s nowhere near close enough in primary strength for me to even do so. However, he spoke up on behalf of Kim Davis today, and that was a good thing worth mentioning. BTW, I also support Ted Cruz.

This isn’t about Rand. This is about Donald, the shape-shifting opportunist ‘conservative’.

z taxman,

This is one reason I don’t have an issue with some of Trump’s earlier positions .....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJmq1hpbcOo

And I’ll admit that some of my positions have evolved over time.

I will add a few positives about Rand .... (1) He wants to cut off funding to a lot of foreign nations that hate us. (2) He doesn’t believe in us being the global police. We don’t need to be in every nation’s business. (3) He was very good at going after Hillary at one time. He was also pretty good at going after Obama. (4) He doesn’t believe our government should be spying on all of us. (5) I believe he’s a pretty descent man.

Those are some good things about Rand. I really thought he was going to be the person I supported at one time. Then he got way off course. I believe he was more concerned about appeasing liberals than he was the conservatives that had been supporting him. That’s where he lost me.

Posting history. I don’t have a problem with that.

I don’t mind him or anyone disagreeing. It’s just the spamming every time Trump’s name is mentioned doesn’t offer much.

And I believe those continually bashing certain candidates should tell us their viable alternatives. Offer some alternatives and reasons why we should support certain candidates instead of bashing the same ones over and over.

Personally, I prefer Cruz but I seriously doubt he’ll gain the traction needed. I like Carson but I don’t believe he would do any better than Trump. Jeb, nope. Huckabee, nope. Rubio, nope. Kasich, nope. Lindsey, nope. Walker, doesn’t appear to be gaining any traction. Perry, nope. Jindal, I like him but it’s not going to happen. Chrisie, nope. Rand, I liked him at one time but he blew it. Carly, she would make a good press secretary for someone.

Offer viable alternatives and I am willing to listen.

And, Nixk, you seem to regularly bash Trump. Who should we be backing? Who is a viable candidate that will win?

Some people are depressed over Trump zombies that will insult Reagan and follow Trump no matter how liberal he is.
