The guard had just stolen the man’s sign. That was a protest sign that he ripped out of his arms.
In Michael Brown terms, what that was is a STRONG ARMED ROBBERY. That is a felony.
What we DO know is that at the time he swatted the little protester, the protester was assaulting him.
Case closed on the part we know.
Further, the headline is a lie. Further, the INTENT of the headline is propaganda.
Even if the security guard is an a-hole, he's in the right at that moment.
And FINALLY - I'll go to battle, in word and in deed, against our enemies, with this a-hole-latino-liberal-paid-protestor-swatting security guard LONG LONG before you. Civility is not a suicide contract, my friend. The most-nice is not going to win the battle.
You are right to wonder what happened first, but you are dead wrong to project into it. with accusation, that he had no right to do whatever he did. The only EVIDENCE thus far is that the little paid protester is legally guilty of assaulting a man carrying a gun and is lucky he was only swatted away rather than truly punched or shot.
Your quickness to an accusatory conclusion, rather than simple curiosity, about the start of the even, kind of makes me wonder if you're sincere, or just prone to self accusation / guilt. The real crime in this story is the propaganda headline ... you should know that.

Jeez, your “vision” is now getting even better. Your vision is now telling you that the sign the security guy had was “ripped out of his arms” by a “STRONG ARMED ROBBERY”. Your vision is getting better and better... while my vision is simply seeing the security guy walking with the sign. I wish I had your astounding ability to see things in a video that aren’t on the video. Are you a psychic?
Looked to me like the scum were blocking the entrance with a sign banner. And the guard ealked through the banner and ripped part of it and grabbed it or a sign. Then was jumped. He did nothing wrong.
Maybe the protester smacked the guard with the sign so he yanked them away from him.
A felony to take a sign from a protestor but not to lay hands on a security officer? Thank you, judge.
Btw detective, it's strong-arm robbery, not strong armed robbery.
Did you put that call in to NYPD to report you have evidence yet?
