Donald Trump: I Will Know The Difference Between Hamas And Hezbollah 'When It's Appropriate'

4 September Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump did not take kindly in a radio interview on Thursday to being asked to identify the affiliations of various militant leaders in the Middle East, saying the host was asking “a gotcha question”.

Discussing Islamist extremism, conservative talk-radio host Hugh Hewitt told Trump he was looking for the next president to identify the leaders of major militant groups, naming the heads of Islamic State, Hezbollah, al-Qaida and its Nusra Front wing in Syria.

“Do you know the players without a scorecard yet, Donald Trump?” asked Hewitt, who will co-moderate the next official Republican presidential debate on 16 September in California.

“No, you know, I’ll tell you honestly, I think by the time we get to office, they’ll all be changed. They’ll be all gone,” Trump replied.

“The names you just mentioned, they probably won’t even be there in six months or a year,” he added.

Hassan Nasrallah has headed Hezbollah since 1992.

Hewitt pushed Trump on the question, asking him: “So the difference between Hezbollah and Hamas does not matter to you yet, but it will?”

Trump replied: “It will when it’s appropriate. I will know more about it than you know, and believe me, it won’t take me long.”

The billionaire real estate mogul has risen to the top of the polls in a crowded Republican field more than a year before the November 2016 election.

When Hewitt said these were not meant as “gotcha” questions, Trump responded: “Well, it sounded like gotcha. You’re asking me names that, I think it’s somewhat ridiculous, but that’s OK. Go ahead, let’s go.”

Ha ha, very funny. Although, as pathetic as Graham is, he still knows the difference between Hezbollah and Hamas. Let’s face it, Trump is 17th out of 17. He’s on Joe Biden level.

I'll guarantee you that the 40% (so far) of the Republicans who want Trump as the next President don't give a flip who Trump knows...It'll take Trump less than 5 minutes to learn the names of these people...

Did Hew Hewitt 'get' Trump on anything that matters???

I like Cruz but I’m worried about his ability to prevail with a congress that he has thoroughly pissed off. Maybe that isn’t impossible...but something that occurred to me.

Occurred to me too.. man did he piss the GOPe in the Senate off..
He don’t JUST snipe at them on TV like Trump..
He actually does something...

Calls... Mitch “the snitch” McConnell LIVE ON CSPAN a LIAR..
AND then.... rails for a good WHILE that he KNOWS THAT Mitch is a LIAR...
and proceeds to UNMASK the RINO.. strip his ass naked.. ON CSPAN yet..

THE GOPe in the Senate did not like THAT at all...
Result: NO primed posts for old TEDDY... Mitch’s PeePee is hanging out..

The Senate republicans piss themselves in FEAR.. except for Mike LEE.. who has his back..

It was BEAUTIFUL must see to appreciate.. IF thinking does not bore you.. you’ll like this..

“And I suppose you have all things Islam mastered, eh sparky?”

The only thing that matters to nick is bashing Trump at every opportunity. He’s become a One Note Johnny.

“And you should check the industry. Trump is a mid-tier developer in NYC”
And most of the rest of those running are career politicians, many of whom have never had a job outside of politics since they were in their 20s. I’ll take the “mid-tier” developer over the political “pros” any day, especially now that Trump is proving that so much of what the “pros” believe is not the case on a daily basis. How many times have the “pros” declared Trump’s candidacy over now and been wrong about that? It looks to me like Trump knows more about their chosen line of work than they do. BTW, Reagan also had a very successful career before he went into politics. I think that outside experience is one of the things that helped him a lot. I am not comparing Reagan to Trump but I do think that professional politicians are a huge part of our problem. I would like to see more people go into politics after succeeding at something else.

Did Hew Hewitt 'get' Trump on anything that matters???

What does matter to you? Insulting Rosie O'Donnell?
- He doesn't know about the Constitution
- He doesn't know about economics
- He doesn't know about the dangers of the world we live in
- He doesn't know how to be a man
- He has a campaign manager whose goal is to enact a weaponized form of amnesty
- He does know how to get his clothing line manufactured overseas

What does he know? It seems like everything he know qualifies him to be on the Caitlyn Jenner show.

But he's a danger to the United States. He's a Muslim sympathizer, and he's a wimp who would be eaten for dinner by our enemies. He should go back to reality TV and what he is good at.

Great point.

I was a manager in charge of a graphics dept. at an investment bank once, 70 workers coming and going and 100 investment bankers bringing down work for me to distribute to the 70.

I had 3 people under me that decided what markup to give to each worker based on speed, knowledge, etc.

I knew all my workers and their strengths and weaknesses for the most part.

But if I handed out all of the work, I could NEVER get done the necessary chores of a manager.

And MANY of the workers knew many more software packages than I knew. The three under me knew ALL of these packages. That’ what mattered.

That is nothing to brag about. The same thing happened in 2008, didn't it? He is the new Obama, and those are the new Obama supporters. I, for one, am not looking forward to going down that road again. The main difference is Trump ADMITS he one single payer socialized medicine.

Let me educate you. Cruz is in the Senate - of course he has access to the chamber -which Trump does not. Secondly, Cruz’s staff tried to tell him 3 times that Mitch was lying and he wouldn’t believe them. Then he goes on the floor of the Senate and calls Mitch out. By the way - there wasn’t anyone else there when he did that. You might want to rethink your argument.

Carson not knowing the Chairman of the Federal Reserve doesn't appear to have affected him. In fact he's soared in the polls recently. Not knowing the difference between Hezbollah and Hamas is not going to affect Donald Trump in the polls either. I'd say maybe 99% of Americans don't know the difference between them either. Most Americans know they are both terrorist outfits from the Mideast. I think the days when questions like that affected a Republican candidate's poll numbers are fast getting behind us. This is not a high school test. The president will have plenty of experts on every region in the world to give him all the advice he needs.

Trump was a big government crony, who based a career on his connection to crooked political figures. I don't think that's what you are describing.

I take it you would also vote for George Soros or Warren Buffett?

What bothered me most about his interview was something a bit different. His statements like he’ll be so good at the military it will make your head spin or I’ll know more about it than you will a day after I am elected.

He sounds like a adolescent boy on the playground full of bravado but lacking in maturity. While this seems to get some people very excited and inclined to hero worship of him it’s a turn off for me as far as seeing him as POTUS.

I have nothing against him personally. I don’t find him particularly likable. I do admit he has a certain charisma that appeals to some people. I don’t trust him as far as I can throw him and I have nothing to point to that shows me he means what he says *no record. I can’t see him negotiating with world leaders the way he claims he does in the board room. I think it would be a disaster. This doesn’t mean I want a POTUS to show weakness or capitulate but I think his attitude & demeanor will not go over well.

I just do not think he has the emotional stability, knowledge of the Constitution and law for this job. His constant bragging about himself and his belief that he is some kind of superhero that can easily solve all of our problems doesn’t point to a mentally healthy individual as far as I’m concerned. No doubt he has been successful in business. He should stay there.

Good night nick. I’m glad I’m not the only one who is up until the wee hours of the morning. I’ll ping you if I get lonely:)

Ummmm...... there was. And it's been confirmed by some of the people who were present that McConnell did indeed lie.
