This is an interesting hire. I work in academe and an infusion of sound management principles would improve every state university I have ever been involved with. It is a different environment than one from which this guy came but talented executives can adapt to situations which they cannot change and change those which are subject to change and need improvement.

Isn't it odd that the institutions which most push change are so resistant to it themselves?

I'll be horribly disappointed in this guy if he brings those horrible new pronouns with him or allows them to stand if there are already present in Ames.
