Chicago breaks single-day shooting death record

. . .

The Windy City had nine shooting deaths on Wednesday — its highest rate of single-day fatalities in over a decade. On July 5, 2003, there were 10 homicides in the city.

The headline is wrong. It says it broke the record and then in the second paragraph notes that their own resench shows that there were 10 homicides on July 5, 2003. Unless the 2003 date includes non shooting deaths.

Well, by liblogic, if they say it’s broken, by golly, it’s broken. Even though it’s less than.
