Our institutions of higher learning have been converted into indoctrination facilities. It’s been so for a while now.
It wouldn't bother me so much if their work met objective quality standards for scholarship. In general, it doesn't, even in some of the sciences. I routinely find older books in my research that blows the doors off modern work for the quantity of work required, analytical integrity, thoroughness, clarity, and literacy. There is no comparison.
