Hugh Hewitt: Rubio, Cruz, Jeb Could Do All-Spanish Debate — Hillary ‘Can’t Order At Taco Bell’
Daily Caller ^ | 6/18/15 | Al Weaver

Radio host Hugh Hewitt talked up the potential for the GOP 2016 field among Latino-Americans Thursday, saying multiple candidates could tap the voting bloc by participating in an all-Spanish debate.

Hewitt, who is currently out promoting his book “The Queen,” told Larry King that while the likes of Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz could do their own debate in Spanish, Hillary Clinton “can’t order at Taco Bell.” The conservative radio host made the comment when discussing the perfect ticket for the GOP in 2016.

“The perfect ticket will be able to appeal to not just white males over the age of 40. They’ll be able to talk to Latino-Americans. They’ll be able to talk to African-Americans. They’ll be able to talk to young single women. We haven’t done a very good job at that,” Hewitt said. “Mitt Romney got smashed in the Latino demographic in 2012. I think he said just this last week…if he had anything to do over again, he’d go to the African-American community and the Latino community earlier. I think our perfect ticket will do just that.”

I don’t think Cruz speaks Spanish.

To my knowledge, Ted Cruz doesn’t speak Spanish fluently.

I do not see the ability to speak Spanish as a huge plus for an American President.

I’m so damned sick of these idiots always talking about appealing to a certain ethnic group when the vast majority of citizens are A)white and B)English speaking. If we’re split up by ethnic group all the minority groups lose. We are supposed to be Americans not hyphenated Americans and buying into the liberal narrative of appealing to Balkanized groups will lead to civil war.

Hillary Clinton can't even PLACE an order at Taco Bell - she needs to call an assistant to tell them to call another assistant to tell them to do it for her.

“There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all.”

“This is just as true of the man who puts “native” before the hyphen as of the man who puts German or Irish or English or French before the hyphen. Americanism is a matter of the spirit and of the soul. Our allegiance must be purely to the United States. We must unsparingly condemn any man who holds any other allegiance.”

“But if he is heartily and singly loyal to this Republic, then no matter where he was born, he is just as good an American as any one else.”

“The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English- Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian- Americans, or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality than with the other citizens of the American Republic.”

“The men who do not become Americans and nothing else are hyphenated Americans; and there ought to be no room for them in this country. The man who calls himself an American citizen and who yet shows by his actions that he is primarily the citizen of a foreign land, plays a thoroughly mischievous part in the life of our body politic. He has no place here; and the sooner he returns to the land to which he feels his real heart-allegiance, the better it will be for every good American.”

I'm confident this is not what America needs.

How about somebody who has employed Latinos, African Americans, white men over 40? I guess that’s not as important to Mr. Establishment Hugh Hewitt.. HH has lived in California too long it’s affected his Harvard brain

And the point of this completely stupid Hewitt comment is...??
 photo JEBBUSHcopy_zps8cab2087.jpg

MEMO TO JEB BUSH:  Instead of getting that degree in Latin American Affairs, you might have been wise to get a degree in AMERICAN HISTORY!  Since you're obviously so fond of Latin America, perhaps there's an elective office waiting for you somewhere in Latin America? Oh wait, THEY have very rigid CITIZENSHIP and RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS down there.

In fact, your wife's home country (that'd be MEXICO) has a heavily defended FENCE across its SOUTHERN BORDER!

never mind

And I suggest that you other alleged Republicans read the thoughts of several of the Founding Fathers before the next election.

PS: And tell us all again why Common Core is NOT a scheme to wrest yet more control over education from the states, locals and, more concerning, parents?

I don’t think there’s any actual Spanish on the Taco Bell menu. They like to make up words that sound kind of Spanish but aren’t.
