Using another Watergate analogy, Pagilno is likley to be the Alexander Butterfield of this case. I was just 12 years old, but remember the hearings playing out on TV druing the summer of 73 and relvations like this that Nixon had a secret recording system.

From Wiki: The tapes gained fame during the Watergate scandal of 1973 and 1974 when the system was made public during the televised testimony of White House aide Alexander Butterfield.
