I wonder if that’s the problem. If you figure that successfully completing college selects for people with, just to pick a number, an IQ of 107 and higher, I wonder what the areas under the male and female bell curves look like above 107. Since males have a slightly right shifted, but broader and flatter, distribution, it may be the case that there are fewer males in the 107+ IQ population than females.
