Isn't it time we close the hardware store loophole and have common sense hammer control.

There needs to be a 7 day waiting period to buy a hammer and the customer needs to pass a hammer safety test and get personalized training in the safe use of the hammer and to go to the construction site and hammer at least 200 nails before being certified.

And then there’s the open carry problem. A lot of toolbelts have hammer holsters that are worn on the outside.

The problem is that the hammer didn’t have a safety, obviously.

You people agitating for hammer control need to consider the bigger picture. If you outlaw hammers.......

I lived in Tacoma back in the 70s when they instituted needle exchange programs. I'm sure by now Tacoma is completely devoid of Hep-C and AIDS cases attributable to heroin use.

Obviously it's time for Tacoma to enact a turn-in-your-hammer program.

Ban hammers and only crooks will have hammers.
Sound like a joke until you think about it.  It's no funnier than when the topic is guns.

I don’t think this article is correct because Tacoma is a hammer free zone.

I’m guessing the proposed drop-off box for guns that Tacoma is thinking about can do double duty for hammers.

All joking aside - what a horrific attack. I think I would rather be killed by a gun than a hammer.
