People who want Trump to be president have to realize that these sorts of mean spirited and personal attacks are his standard operating procedure. Disagree with him. You're a loser or an Obama supporter. Note that he's never held elected office ever. You're a hater. He inspires his supporters to the same level of blind loyalty as Obama did with his. Yet there are too many flaws to ignore. He cannot accept any criticism. He's petty, thin-skinned, and juvenile in his attacks on twitter and TV. Much about Trump that is helpful is undermined by his lack of perspective, inexperience, lack of knowledge, and nasty attitude towards other well-meaning people who have been conservatives longer than Trump has. For Trump, conservatism is situational and for his electoral benefit only. The ones he attacks are different. These people have done much more to build the coalition of libertarians, neo-cons, paleoconservatives, fiscal conservatives, Reagan Democrats, and Christian conservatives. Reagan united conservatives of many backgrounds. Trump is about Trump. He's not seeking to only destroy GOPe. He's simply too vain to work with others. And in a policy and practical sense, he's too mercurial to maintain the promises (see his pro-Syrian refugee comments) that inspire his loyal supporters.

Good summary.

Good summary.

The term is "presidential temperament".

John McCain didn't have it. He was thin-skinned...and mean.

Trump is expressing a similar lack. He can be thin-skinned...and petty.
