I knew that, I just wanted to clarify where I was coming from somewhere on the thread.

In any case, while I don't really trust Trump, I find the groundswell of support that he's getting very encouraging. Whatever his flaws as a candidate, it's heartening to see opposition to amnesty and open borders become a litmus test for a majority of Republican voters. I'd like to see a situation where support for amnesty effectively disqualifies any and all candidates from the nomination.

In a perfect world it would be great. In the flawed one we have, one single-issue item begets another single-issue item ad infinitum and we end up with nobody "worthy of our votes".

When he was considering the run, there were things about Trump which made me uneasy - most of them have been satisfied in my mind but there's always risk. I donate to Cruz and would vote for Trump with clean conscience. Here's hping we end up with a good one for a change and some of the major problems get addressed in a big way.
