I’ve never belonged to a union, but I supervised employees who belonged to them and believe that they should have the right to choose membership in a union if they wish.

And yet in many many locations, union membership is not chosen, it is forced on everybody in a given profession. How do you justify that?

I’m not justifying anything. I’m saying that if an employee chooses to belong to a union, he or she should be allowed to authorize a deduction from their paycheck without the government stepping in.
