We just got the clearest sign yet that Russia doesn't really care about fighting ISIS in Syria
Business Insider ^ | 12 Sep 15 | Natasha Bertrand

Moscow will reportedly provide Russian troops in Syria with an advanced antiaircraft missile system as part of its military support for Syrian president Bashar Assad.

"This system is the advanced version used by Russia, and it's meant to be operated by Russians in Syria," a Western diplomat who is regularly briefed on US, Israeli, and other intelligence assessments told Reuters.

And as The Daily Beast's Michael Weiss points out, any antiaircraft missiles deployed by Russian troops in Syria won't be directed at ISIS, since ISIS has no air force.

In fact, none of the rebels do — only government forces have access to aircraft.

Russia has substantially increased its military presence in Syria over the past two weeks under the guise of helping the embattled Assad fight ISIS and other extremists.

And now that US and Russian fighter jets are flying side-by-side — the US has been launching airstrikes against ISIS since mid-2014, and Russian drones and fighter planes are reportedly surveilling non-ISIS rebels in the country's north — Moscow sees it as an opportunity to force Washington to come to the table.

Leaving Iraq and taking Kadaffi out did more to destabilize the middle east than the original invasion ever did, that’s a fact.

Yeah, pulling out led to the vacuum but I'm not sure there was realistically a choice after 10 years, 5,000 lives, countless wounded, and over a trillion dollars. If we hadn't gone in in the first place, we wouldn't have had to worry about the unintended consequences of pulling out.

I think once we exhausted ourselves in Iraq, we were no longer in a position of strength from which to manage events in the middle east and the chaos in Iraq was the first domino to fall. All this chaos is a related to US weakness and declining influence which is a consequence of the invasion of Iraq.

We really needed to stay in Iraq for a good 20 years minimum as it was very obvious the vacuum would be sucking strong! I always use the old standby, if the Won/val is for it, we need to do the opposite, and vice versa. It has yet to fail me!

"quite predictably"

So the prediction was that a radical Marxist would become the U.S. President and hand the jihadist everything they wanted in a complete turn around from a stable Iraq? Did the prediction state that America would make "red line" threats only to reverse course, tuck tail and run? Did the prediction state that the U.S. Would empty Gitmo terrorists back to the sewer?

But this AA equipment is aimed at NATO forces, not ISIS

Yes, to prevent a NFZ, and protect transports of X? against IAF sorties.

At least they aren’t supplying ISIS with weapons like we are.

You say that like you know it to be a fact.

China and Russia to build major seaport: report

China and Russia will build one of the largest ports in north-east Asia on Russia’s Sea of Japan coast, reports say, in a further sign of the powerhouses’ growing alliance.

Odumbo’s fundamental change to America has and is having a major impact all over the world, not just in the middle east where the pot has been boiling for over 400 years. Odumbo’s plan has only encouraged the unruly bunch. A freeking mess has been created and who’s to fix it if it is fixable?.

I was referring to the Russians possibly secretly supporting ISIS and other Islamic terror groups. They are masters at the art of deception. And masters at chess, thinking many moves ahead.

My prediction was that the middle east would be destabilized and that we would be left in a position of weakness and North Korea and Iran would obtain the bomb as a result. Everybody else predicted a walk in the park with roses being thrown at our liberating feet. And we have President Obama and every decision he has made thanks entirely to George Bush’s invasion of Iraq btw.

We should have stayed the hell out of there in the first place. 20 years! Good luck selling that to the voters.

Well a non Muslim president would have made different decisions. The Muslim brotherhood is running the current administration.

If Israel wanted to hit Iran, they would have to either pass thru Saudi air space, Jordan, or Syria and Iraq. Having Syrian AA blocks the Syrian route.

Our bombs are dropping on ISIS. This is a fact. The tempo could be upped, but it’s either unknown or a lie to say otherwise.

Obama is a hardcore leftist --a communist. The commie left allies themselves with the islamic terrorists only because they too hate America and want it destroyed. He has no serious belief in religion. His church', under rev Wright, advocated communist 'Liberation Theology'. He sat there for over 20 years.

Obama's Church: Gospel of Hate
Kathy Shaidle, FrontPageMag.com
Monday, April 07, 2008

In March of 2007, FOX News host Sean Hannity had engaged Obama’s pastor in a heated interview about his Church’s teachings. For many viewers, the ensuing shouting match was their first exposure to "Black Liberation Theology"...

Like the pro-communist Liberation Theology that swept Central America in the 1980s and was repeatedly condemned by Pope John Paul II, Black Liberation Theology combines warmed-over 1960s vintage Marxism with carefully distorted biblical passages. However, in contrast to traditional Marxism, it emphasizes race rather than class. The Christian notion of "salvation" in the afterlife is superseded by "liberation" on earth, courtesy of the establishment of a socialist utopia.

Catholics for Marx [Liberation Theology]
By Fr. Robert Sirico
FrontPageMagazine.com | Thursday, June 03, 2004

In the days when the Superpowers were locked in a Cold War, Latin America seethed with revolution, and millions lived behind an iron curtain, a group of theologians concocted a novel idea within the history of Christianity. They proposed to combine the teachings of Jesus with the teachings of Marx as a way of justifying violent revolution to overthrow the economics of capitalism.

The Gospels were re-rendered not as doctrine impacting on the human soul but rather as windows into the historical dialectic of class struggle. These "liberation theologians" saw every biblical criticism of the rich as a mandate to expropriate the expropriating owners of capital, and every expression of compassion for the poor as a call for an uprising by the proletarian class of peasants and workers.
