The sole purpose of these debates is out of Alinsky 101, a strategy to frame the debate to splinter the conservative primary voters among themselves.
The GOP is in on it, or it would have stopped a long, long time ago, but this is what it takes to get the Establishment candidate through the primaries to the nomination.
It only works if we let it work. Are we going to fall for it again? That’s the question. It’s really up to us.

The GOP is in on it. They know it’s stacked. If there are conservatives in the audience then the rules force “silence”. If not, the audience can roar and hiss.
CNN will garner an astronomical revenue, a windfall that can only be be attributed to Mr. Trump's appearance at the event.

I don’t consider Carson to the right of Trump. He is side by side with Bush on amnesty, along with Carly who is a total loser!.

Keep in mind, in the FOX debate, the 10 candidates spoke approximately four minutes each, some more and some less, but now there are 11 with Fiorina.
The panelists sucked up the rest of the time with their long winded and blow hard questioning.
Candidates have to sputter, not speak, before the bell goes off. Not a chance for detail or clarity among the lot of them with four minutes total to speak, on stage.
I don’t see how it comes out well for anyone, including the viewers.
The whole damn show is a colossal trap.
Zucker never replied to Trump’s request. Trump said Cnn had increased their profit from ads, by making a 40,000. ad to sell for 200,000. Get that!

I’d like to address the genius of Donald Trump. I don’t know how he will perform at the debates, although I can guess. But when you look at the man, considered that he is a genius among men, having built what few in history have even built. While Bloomberg built an industry selling machines to nerdy stockbrockers, Donald Trump has been in the hospitality and real estate business. These are industries built on good will, trust, quality, serving the customer, adjusting to feedback in order to continue the relationship, investing in relationships, and maintaining his reputation with integrity.
When Donald Trump hears of waste, fraud and abuse he is mortified, outraged because in business it means death. Every detail must be attended to. Nothing can be ignored because his reputation has been on the line for decades. Quality, responsiveness, fiscal integrity. No professional politician these days lives by those qualities. Education dysfunction is ignored. The ghettos are ignored. (Notice Trump specifically talked about Baltimore, Ferguson, and Chicago as places that have to change.) Leaders and donors are paid off with pork, and they close their eyes to the stinking sewage. Donald Trump is a germaphobe for a reason, and that’s a great thing to have in a CEO of a hospitality and restaurant business.
That laser focus in addressing dysfunction is paramount. I want someone intolerant of the chaos and human suffering in schools, at the VA, in our military. Common Core is causing parents and children to suffer, and now we have someone, an advocate, who says it’s outrageous, and has a reputation for total intolerance of dysfunction. Trump is intolerant of the abusive Obamacare, and the abuse at our borders. If you tell me that any of the others are intolerant of those things too, then why haven’t we seen any of them put their reputations on the line, and make a huge deal about changing anything (outside of Ted Cruz who was willing to filibuster the budget over Obamacare). I would be chaining myself to the doors of the VA, to have changed that evil corrupt situation. Trump, the genius, is putting his reputation and money on the line to help the America he loves. Trump loves America, and so Americans who love America love Trump.
Is this going to be another ‘debate’ where moderators pick and choose among questions political consultants hand them?
I foresaw that the CNN chief would choose to ignore Trump totally, and he did.
I also foresee that Donald will get the last laugh on Zucker at some future date...and I'm sitting here with with a large spoon waiting to lap it all up! Zucker won't know what hit him!

If Donald Trump did what you suggest, I would hope that the other candidates would place an empty chair on stage with a sign that says TRUMP.
I’ve always found it annoying when incumbent politicians refuse to debate their challengers because they’re too afraid to defend their record. In your scenario, it would be the reverse. The challanger (Trump) would be seen as not wanting to defend his record against other, more established, candidates.
Debates are good for candidates. It forces them to sharpen their message and contemplate different issues. Trump needs to continue to use the debates to his adavantage (IMO).
Trump is a master at what he does and has a plan if you understand it. His first focus is to reprogram Americans as can do people with unlimited potential. That is why he is so popular even with black people and Hispanics and just about anyone.
Democrats and the media are determined to make people believe that they are failures and cannot get along without them. Democrats must do this to keep power. The media must do this so that you will listen to their “analysis” so they can be relevant.
In comes Trump who basically says if you carefully listen that you can be rich like Trump and you can be successful like Trump and he is using a recipe to do this. If you give anyone the choice to either be a failure and dependent or successful and independent they will always pick the latter.
The other candidates have no traction because their message is a variation of the democrat message which is that life is bad, nothing is possible, and we are all screwed. They have no technique like Trump.
Why do you think the Apprentice was so successful? Trump pushed people to do better and better and better. People want that.
Democrats and the media are all about doing worse and worse and worse and making excuses for that. Obama is one disaster after another and they are celebrating it. Megyn Kelly and Krauthammer are the loser team going after Trump every day pointing out how without them you would not know how right they are about talking about the failures of Trump and how the candidates are hopeless.
Against all this backdrop Trump comes in and says that not only can Americans do better than they think, but they can do much, much better than they think. 99% of Americans want to do much, much better than they think.
When Trump has a big mouth and makes shocking comments he is doing that for a reason according to his formula and it is having the desired effect. And all the know-it-alls create an opinion and think they understand what he is doing when they have no clue.
Trumps formula is working to perfection. That is why Trump is so positive and confident because he is having exactly the desired effect as planned by him.
So everybody all worried about what will happen at the debates is pointless. Trump will come out on top again because he already knows what will happen. CNN/media/candidates against Trump will come out with the same message which is you need them because you are ignorant and useless and stupid and you do not have a prayer unless you let them run your life.
Then Trump will have all the focus on him and he will know how to make you believe that you can be successful like Trump, that you do not need anyone, and that you can prosper and excel with the right America.
Trump will crest 40% support from the Republican electorate within weeks after the second debate because the candidates simply cannot kick the addiction of trying to convince people that without them they are nothing.
The Trump formula is working to perfection because Trump keeps saying that you can do much much better than you think. The choice is obvious.
