Not a word about this here in Reno.

Also, what national news I watch, I didn’t see a thing there, either.

Another display of BIAS by the USA media.

Not quite, but close - Julia Gillard left office on 27th June 2013, and since then we've had Rudd, Abbott, and now Turnbull.

Why is it happening? Two major reasons - Prime Ministers have been unable to get their legislation through Parliament in the normal way - Julia Gillard had to deal with a hung Parliament (and so did Rudd, briefly) and Tony Abbott was saddled with a Senate unlike any other in Australia's history (which largely happened because of the internet enabling a new style of Senate voting) that simply would not pass things that previous Senates would have passed. Add to that, the rise of social media with it's capacity to mislead people so huge amount of lies get spread as fact (Abbott has been subjected to particular vicious smears, but Gillard had to deal with some of it as well). I'm not sure whether this is going to be a long term issue or not.

We will just have to wait for the results of the next election.
