Russia's military build-up in Syria has grown to include the shipment of a half-dozen highly sophisticated battle tanks -- and more troops -- a defense official told Fox News, in what the source called the "first clear sign of offensive weapons arriving in Syria."

The Pentagon has now tracked a total of 15 Russian Antonov-124 Condor flights into Syria, reflecting a steady stream of military cargo into Syria. According to the latest intelligence, this also includes the arrival of two more Russian cargo ships, containing the tanks.

A clear act of aggression is the USA training, arming and funding terrorists to overthrow Assad.

Wait, the Obama policy is to not interfere with governments.........LOL

No, no wait, it wasn’t supposed to be like this, you see, we adopted the policy of RESET and global passivity, so why can’t we just be friends, eh Vlad?

You know we thought that by apologizing and showing greater flexibility that you’d see it our way, eh, Vlad?

Oh come on Vlad, I gave you our missile launching codes and precise silo locations and this is how you repay me, Vlad?

They’ve had advisers in there acting as journalists for at least 2 years.

If they are for killing ISIS, what’s the problem.

So who will these Russian battle tanks be deployed against?

Israel? No.
Local Christians? No.
Islamic radicals? Yes.

I’m having difficulty seeing any problem here.

Tanks. APCs. Artillery. Wish they’d said if it was self-propelled or towed artillery.

They brought in some of their own airplanes, too.

Blitzkrieg.

They did learn something from WWII.

There is no problem except, if they can prove the US is funding and arming these miscreants, we could end up tussling with the bear. It could get ugly. It already is.

Russia will likely go on the offensive against ISIS and win.

Then the whole of the Middle East will be in Putin’s debt.

Europe will also because that will stop the flood of people.

Local Christians will see him as “representing” the Russian Orthodox Church and assume that he gave a damn about them while Rome fiddled and spent more time courting gays.

America will be seen as a bunch of self-adsorbed loons that helped arm ISIS and then walked away.

If they can prove that the US is aiding ISIL, we should execute everyone involved ourselves. Just following orders is no excuse for treason.

It looks like Russia will be deploying a Battalion or two of combined arms and Specops.

I think they want to test and further develop their anti-insurgency capabilities.

As I have said many times on this forum, the first modern army to encounter ISIS on a large scale is going to have a LOT of fun.

ISIS is nothing more than a large street gang. They will be killed as fast as the reloading can occur.

It looks like the tanks will be deployed to protect the airbase ... not attack Islamic radicals directly.

Interesting Russia sent T-90 tanks (per article). T-72 was tank of choice in Donbas. Wonder if the Russian "Separatists" are angry they got older generation?

I suspect since Russia sent a newer gen. of tank to Syria, perhaps they sent the MSTA and Pio SP Guns? Just guessing. Can't really find anything-yet.

I guess the deployment of the SA-22 air defense system around their airfield is SOP but who are these Russian missiles intended to shoot down?

ISIS is nothing more than a large street gang.

I thought ISIS had top military officers from Saddam's regime ... you know the same ones we were advised to leave in charge of Iraq's army.
