I dont see a problem with this. It puts the ones that actually want to be here legally on the right path to obtaining that. Those that dont apply will be outed and can then be sent back across the border. Thats what is supposed to be happening anyway come across the border to work, apply for a visa.
I’m sure Kate Steinle’s murderer would have done things the “right way” if only we, the American people, would let him...*spit*
Why do people running for office (except Trump) think that we are so stupid?
I suppose all the illegals who are criminals, gangsters, and rapists are showing a big grin and smiling right now.
Ben Carson is crazy IMHO.
No. Repeat no. Go home take Ben with you.
How about paying back taxes?
“When did you enter the US?”
“For each year you were working in the US, did you file a Federal income tax return? A state income tax return?”
“What Social Security number did you enter on each tax return?”
“If you did any work for cash payment, did you file a Schedule C and pay self-employment tax of 15.3%?”
By “doing things the right way” does he mean no welfare and other government handouts? Will they have to support themselves or will they still get to ride down the superhighway to “citizenship” on the backs of the U.S. taxpayers.
If I had my druthers, that Guest Worker card would have an expiration date. They can work in the country for three or five years, but at the end of that time, they have to leave. Then, after an equal number of years have passed, they can come again, for another limited term.
The other thing I would do is put teeth into eVerify, with big fines and penalties for anybody who hires a non-registered guest worker, even as casual labor. If you want to pick up a couple of day laborers from in front of the Home Depot, you will need to see their Guest Worker card and call into the 1-800 number on the back of the card to verify their status. The whole process would take about a minute.
Once you have guest workers registered and the hiring of undocumented workers stomped out, you can start raising the minimum wage of guest workers. The only way guest workers should be employed is if there is a labor shortage. This labor shortage should be reflected by a higher minimum wage, say double the general minimum wage. This would give American workers the advantage.
So, the simple solution to the illegal invader problem is to make them legal?
Do we really need 12 to 20 million more guest workers competing legally against Americans for jobs?
Welcome to 2000 Mr. Carson.
Sorry, you’re immigration plan is way out of date.
Not ready for prime time...
Pass.
None can NOW claim to want to eliminate illegals. Not seriously anyhow.
Illegals are kind of like your 30 year old mooching son, only its not your son, living at home.
Instead, It’s some guy from somewhere in mexico, who doesn’t speak English, living in your basement. He simply has to go! Its simply the right thing to do.
Good luck Mexican man but you are not our problem or responsibility. Now go home and make Mexico great!
Not voting for Carlson. No way.
See Europe for examples.....or the sanctuary cities.
WE, the American people decided a long time ago exactly what the procedure and criteria should be.
The discussion never gets back to the Hell-Hole Mexico and why there are so many 'refugees' climbing the fence and swimming the river to escape, along next to the deadly criminal element that can't be ignored.
Notice he speaks about what the American people would DECIDE, then states he has already DECIDED.
If they are hard working and have a decent set of skills to work with, they won't be collecting social welfare handouts and will stay. If they pay into the system for 20 years, then they become eligible for social programs.
When the hell are people going to wake up to the con job that is Carson? He is a full blown Chamber of Commerce toady.
This is as asinine as the earlier open-borders/amnesty crowd’s “touch back” plan.
No can do, Carson.
