That was a weak and revealing answer on his part...but at least he’s being truthful that he doesn’t know....
... Foreign policy matters more than too many would like to admit. Trump also dodged a similar question (before) saying he’d be too busy handling our problems here.
I think that Trump is going to continue to dodge answering questions specifically because he may just believe being President is a matter of getting other people into position who do know and just cut the best of the lot loose to do what he wants. He hasn’t grasped it’s far more difficult running a country then a business....and he won’t be able to dictate to people in Governance as he does in his business.
Trump is going to have to show that he does understand what’s going on Internationally and stop dodging questions related to that.
I don’t see “I don’t know” as a weak answer, ever. In fact, when I interview candidates, I make sure that I ask them a question or two that there is very very very little chance they will know the answer to. Ones that refuse to admit they don’t know and try to bullpoop their way through it, will never get hired by me.
The other thing on a simple note is, foreign policy by and large doesn’t win elections.... these name the leader of this nation, or that fringe group are just gotcha questions the press likes to trot out to make itself feel special.
Do you want Trump to know battlefield strategy, or do you want him to let the generals lead?
I do not think it is that important for him to completely understand foreign
policy that is what his generals and admirals are for!!! Trump surrounds himself with the BEST & BRIGHTEST, he will find his way although he is arrogant you don’t get where he is without listening and trusting in others, unlike our arrogant POTUS!!!!!! Trump has MANY people running and managing his many businesses he must trust their judgement!!!!!!
