This latest kid was warned by his sympathetic science teacher not to show it to anybody, got busted when it made noise in class (apparently he plugged it in) so not only is he stupid or incredibly naive about what that thing looks like, he also can’t follow rules and instructions.
And his dad is an Islamic activist...Yeah, it’s all an innocent misunderstanding, I believe that.
Demonstrably not innocent. The kid was told by his science teacher to not take it out of the classroom. He was told why. He therefore knew beyond a reasonable doubt that the “clock” looked like a bomb to many if not most people. He not only took it to his English class, he also plugged it in whereby it proceeded to make noises. It is almost a certainty that this was all done to intentionally produce a responses. When the cops arrived he would only answer that it was a clock. He offered no information that could have diffused the situation. Suckerburg is a fool, but you already knew that.
