Now, theres one of the funnier jabs at Common Core in a while, this one coming via Twitter about a man in Ohio who decided to put his money where his mouth is.
Priceless.
My kid has High School Common core geometry. I like these fols spirit. How do I apply geometry to a check?

The goal of this insanity is to make sure no kid actually understands math. It is sabotaging the education system and trying to negate the notion of objective truth.
Math is what they say it is, and the right answer is what they say it is. You need an illiterate peasant class to pull it off.
Painseville, Ohio ping
OK, can anyone explain to me how to interpret the value on the check.
But but but, Jeb likes it. ie...he is getting big bucks from somebody to push this shiite.
Wish I could help you. Actually, that's a lie. Truth is, I'm glad I can't -- meaning I'm glad I never had to study Common Core math when I was in school.
But I do share your curiosity, so if any greater minds than ours on FR want to offer an answer to your query, I'll be interested in seeing it (not that I'll expect to understand it).
Most of the teachers can’t even do it....many of them are frustrated with this crap and some are getting out of the teaching profession because of it. Probably a good move anyway.
Bowling. Strike three.
I will send it to you in PDF format, it is 75 pages long.
I don’t see anything hidden?
1. Find out what county Painesville, Ohio is in.
2. Google "Ohio property records" and the county name
3. Go to the search page
4. Type in Douglas for the first name and H for the last
5. Look for someone with 733 for the address number and a wife named Marlo.
I can also tell that the current appraised value of his house is about $34,000 less than he paid for it in 2009. That math stinks too. :-)
Blacking out part of names just doesn't work anymore.
Well that would be four opens and three strikes.
I'm not sure if that's "The New Math" (which is now Old Math), or going even further back, just plain "rithmatic" (from The Three R's), but the bottom line is...
The loss of $34K in value is the real world math all of us in the chattering class have to use.
I feel the check-writer's pain.
I was once able to find Chris Matthews’ home address and phone number using White Pages and some info from Wikipedia.
Worked pretty well during the Antebellum period.
Our current government is actively following the the examples of the slave government of that time.
It was illegal to teach a slave to read or write. Keep them stupid. Today you can't legislate stupidity so do the next best thing-make education meaningless.
An ignorant population is much easier to control than one that knows what is going on.
Laws prohibiting slaves from reading and writing were not put in place to avoid user congestion at the local library.
