The "Know Nothing"'s arose out of the disintegration of the Whigs. If the GOP is disintegrating, it's not Trump's fault.

I believe that all stripes of Republicans (and others) love Trump because he is OUR Übermensch/Überliberal. He is more effectively self-righteous, confident, arrogant, indignant, insulting and condescending than any one of them could ever hope to be and they know they can't hold a candle to him.

I take a great deal of foolish pleasure watching him do his thing but I could never vote for him and I can't imagine what will happen if he's elected but I'm pretty darn sure he'll do whatsoever he pleases.

“This means the majority of our immigrants came here legally, followed the rules”

Ignorance, bad logic, both?

A high percentage of legal immigrants were previously illegal. Some entered illegally. Some came as students, tourists, h1b, etc and over-stayed their visa. Some worked with visas that did not allow them to work.

They found a spouse, an anchor-baby or another government program so they could apply for legal status.

Ignorance of immigration reality on all sides in the debate is a major problem.

Some talk of those who are patiently waiting in line. What ignorance. They are already here illegally.

When I asked the IT worker beside me what his immigration status is, he answers that it is “In progress”.

I take that to mean he currently has nada. But is hoping to find a wife, anchor baby or other vehicle to obtain amnesty.

Those opposed to amnesty are also ignorant as we currently have massive amnesty and they aren’t even aware of it.

I don’t think so. I am a former immigrant from Germany and the ancestors of my husband were also from Germany

Those Germans and Irish immigrants believed in our God and they were willing to work, unlike the welfare immigrants of today from the Middle East.

The biggest difference is that 19th and early 20th century immigrants weren’t overruning our southern border, working under the table to promote the new slave trade, and demanding that Americans speak spanish and give them free shit at the taxpayers expense.

Damn, when the US planted the flag in mexico city during the mexican-american war, we should have kept all of that territory.

If you have a problem with that, I here that la raza will let gringos join once in a while.

“Immigrants are 13% of the U.S. population, but they own 20% of the small businesses.” Maybe we should look into that. Visa options and immigrant business initiatives.

We have Trump to thank for outing everyone in the MSM including those we assumed were on the side of smaller government and freedom.

No the damn GOPe is the know nothing party. The Dumbocrats are the Careless party. I am growing tired this week of everyone in the media and the politicians going after one person Donald trump. Why because Donald trump has a backbone and a spine. Does not mean I support Trump, but the tendency to go after one person means that establishment leadership cannot handle the pressure of someone showing that the problem truly exists because their lack of leadership!

Big difference between 19th century immigrants and now : the welfare state.

That, and the fact that Muslims are proven non-integrators in Western society, especially in large numbers.

And there wouldn’t have been “Press two for Deutsch “ in those days.

They all learned English quickly unlike the invaders that are coming in now.

Townhall is starting to become nothing but an arm of the DNC

Hey Noobie, Townhall didn't write the article. The name of the author is Helen Raleigh Not Townhall.

Got it?
