27-Year-Old Video of Donald Trump Surfaces. You'll Want to Watch This.

During a 1988 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Donald Trump discussed the prospect of running for president someday, saying, “probably not, but I do get tired of seeing the country ripped off.”

Though the billionaire businessman admitted that he didn’t have “the inclination” to run, he also said he “would never want to rule it out totally” for the future.

“I just probably wouldn’t do it, Oprah. But I do get tired of seeing what’s happening with this country,” he said.

If Trump was fed up with the state of the nation back then, he must be livid now, which would certainly explain his move to throw his hat in the ring for a 2016 presidential bid.

Right. The 1988 republican convention....

Any tape of him hanging out at democratic conventions?

And the Republican Party represented conservatives at one time. No more. Let’s just admit it and move one. Oh that’s what Trump is doing

I agree, but it looks like America I’d trying move back in that direction. But it’s way too early to call that shot.

This is quite a good video actually. Trump sounds much now like he did then on the idea of “America getting ripped off”.

The problem is, while I think this does show he is consistent on this issue which is a good thing, it doesn’t really tell us anything about his politics. Unions, leftist Democrat protectionists, etc, all also think we are being ripped off.

What matters are his policies. If they are cutting taxes, slashing regulation, reducing the influence of big labor unions, etc, then those are the things that would make us competitive in the world. If his answer is just blaming other people, raising trade barriers, increasing tariffs, then those are not different than the kind of thing Bernie Sanders is for.

Still, it’s a good video of him. The Trump campaign should get this circulating as I think it puts him in a good light.

He’s consistent on these issues, but other videos have proven he’s been inconsistent on social issues, tax issues and the Cuba issue.

This is a good video. No different from what he was saying four yrs ago on mike savages show

I’ve often said geeze where are the statesmen looking at what is happening the vanderbilts, carnegies. Where are theses guys? We haven’t been THAT taken over by selfish feminist wives who don’t keep track of what their husbands are up to

Was talking to a cousin she said our 94 year old family friend who lives in the Brooklyn house she was born in Nice place, too. She was in business in NYC She said, years ago, ‘I don’t know what happened to that Donald (some New Yorkers are put off by his personality)’ anyway, she said’his father was such a nice man’

So now I want to know more about his family

Anyway, the ‘let’s all hang up on the front runner’ style debates are not his thing

People underestimate how quick a study he is going to be

He means to get in there and help us

No slight to you, but I never click on a link or article that says “You’ll want to watch this” or words to that effect. If the title is just a lure for me to increase their hits I ain’t playing that game.

the fact that a social IS a social issue is by extended definition ... always evolving/changeing anyway.

Sinatra to doo wop to r&b to R&R to disco to metal to head banger to rap to (whereEVER we are on the spectrum now) is ALL about teenage kids

Trump has always not wanted to pay a lot of taxes and Cuba ust'a be, then it wasn't and now it is again

D Trump has never been un-American

President Sanders would suck up to the commie nations like obama does now to the muzzies

Trump's Great America means ... we earn real money

Thanks for the Video, sure puts to rest all the Trump haters who say he is a Democrat. That young man hasn’t changed a bit, a little more salty now. He’s a Patriot first, this man Loves AMERICA.

Most people ARE like they were after becoming young adults. If they are not, it is worth an examination.

My theory is that his kids are taking over more of the business and he was getting bored. That’s probably whats been going on since the Apprentice days.

While he was going fine, the country continued to decline. He can change his focus from the other stuff.

I am still not sold on him. But the point I like to make is that if he was a “dirt bag” you would have heard it by now. I have read that his employees like him. If they did not, you would have read about it in People Magazine.

THAT kind of vetting is better than what the “real” press does.

Trump may have been a dem...SO WHAT!
Today’s dems are not dems.
Today’s republicans are dems and Trump is definitely not a socialist or one of today’s republicans.
He’s tough, he knows business, he knows we’ve been horse whipped by other countries and he’s tired of it.
He doesn’t cower to anyone, nor does he act like a mealy-mouthed, doormat apologizer.
He’s got my vote. All he has to do now is pick the right running mate.

Aren’t those the reasons Joe Kennedy was the first director of the SEC. (not the conference, the Securities Exchange Commission.)

I believe FDR said something to the effect of if you want to catch the crooks, the best person to use is a crook.

If you want to stop Crony Capitalism, why not use someone who has used that system almost as well as the Congressmen themselves.

Just because a person was once something, doesn’t mean they can’t change.
The democrat party then wasn’t nearly as bad as it is now.
---------------------------------------------------

Really the KKK, segregation.. against the Civil Rights Act .. the Civil War.. The Federal Reserve, Income Tax.. federal control of Soc.Sec. ENTITLEMENTS.. was not BAD?..

Wilson, FDR, Truman, Kennedy's, LBJ, losing the war in Vietnam was not BAD?..

Only the Tip of the CORRUPT-Berg......

To even BE a democrat for a hundred years speaks of RETARDATION..
Democrats becoming republican-- waters down the republican party..

Yes... Reagan too.. One of the LESS Stupid..
He was STUPID for a long time.. though.. like democrats basically are..

Democracy IS Mob Rule by mobsters..
Always was, still is, and forever will be..

Democracy you see is a LIE.. a Scam..
No democracy has ever been democratic...
Even Monarchy's and Sharia Law are democratic..

Heck the Soviet Union and China are democratic..
Only one Party... that are democrats...

Trump should make Japan institute a VCR buyback program to make up for the ripping-off or we cancel all trade with them.

Then in 2007 Donald Trump said, “Hillary’s always surrounded herself with very good people. I think Hillary would do a good job,” as he praised her ability to negotiate and ultimately handle a deal with Iran. It’s also important to note that he praised Hillary, while simultaneously trashing Condoleezza Rice as unqualified and nothing more than a joke.
