MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Warning the GOP's presidential race has become too nasty, Scott Walker suspended his 2016 campaign on Monday and called on some of his Republican rivals to do the same, citing an urgent need to "clear the field" to help defeat GOP front-runner Donald Trump.

"Today, I believe that I am being called to lead by helping to clear the field in this race so that a positive conservative message can rise to the top of the field. With that in mind, I will suspend my campaign immediately," Walker said in a Madison press conference.

All the candidates like to say they are conservative - most of them have a few issues where they are conservative, but that doesn’t make them the pure conservative. Even Trump has a few ideas which I don’t think are conservative, but he scores big on illegal immigration, second amendment, birthright citizenship and a few other things. He scores a lot higher than Fiorian on Conservative Review too. He isn’t good in debates and neither is Carson - so what? People can talk and others can act.

Which means that the GOPe has decided it will be easier to get rid of Trump by getting Jeb the votes of the back of the pack guys. Look for Linda, Pataki and Gilmore to drop out so Jeb can get to double digits.

Well the plane (and Walker) got stuck in at least 4’ of RINO-GOPe consultant bullsh*t, partly courtesy of Mrs. George Will (former Walker ‘adviser’, now out of work).

Not enough.

Next, we want to hear the same from Linda Grahamnesty, George Putztaki, John Kase-itch, Cris Crispy, Jim Gilmore, Rue Paul, Mike Huckleberry, and above all JEB.

Go! Be done! None of you are going to win.

That’s what I was thinking.

I do not think it was wise to burn bridges as you leave.
I am surprised.

That is how I saw Walker, also. I was bitterly disappointed in him when he defended John McCain. Then it seemed to be all down hill from that point.

Tried telling people. As usual they has 50 reasons that the evidence of their eyes was wrong.

So they once again backed the problem and hurt the chances of the actual conservative in the race.

Same as every election. Project what they want to see, stomp their feet to defend the illusion and tank another conservative’s chances to get their way.

Trump SLANDERED his record as Governor with dem talking points, he has every damn reason to oppose him. Every damn reason. Come on man.

And anyone is entitled not to like Trump’s personal attack heavy campaign style.

Nothing wrong with Walker’s comments. Frankly I find you position that you regret ever supporting him to be GD ridiculous.

Oh but you can’t say a word against his Majesty without being attacked on FR these days.

But his Majesty can slander other Republicans with carte Blanche.

So people that don’t think Trump should be our nominee should just STFU huh? Is that your position. I’m not gonna STFU.

hat’s why I think the others should drop out, just as he says, so that we can offer Trump as a “positive CONSERVATIVE alternative” to the current front-runner

Trump is not a conservative - he is a populist that holds a number of conservative positions, along with a number of liberal positions (class warfare, tax the rich, single-payer health care, etc.). I know a lot of people are willing to overlook his liberal positions, or will even try to argue that they really are conservative positions, because they agree with him on immigration, etc. And if you support him in spite of those liberal positions, fine, but be honest about it. But don't try to make him into a principled conservative, implying that he is conservative across the board. It just isn't true.

"I do agree with Walker that Republicans need to “clear the field” so that we can have a “positive conservative alternative to the current front-runner”."

Even with a new ticker, I didn't know Dick Cheney was interested in running with Palin.. ;-)

Sad to see him go in a way, but not Perry. Our so called vaulted field ain't so vaulted. It is way beyond time for Graham, Santorum, the Huckmyster, Bobby Backala ( Christie ) , and Jindal to exit stage right. Carlie, Coulter was on Howie Carr today with not so kids words too say. IMHO we are down to Trump, Cruz, Carson...

So he essentially has the same message that the MSM has. Trump supporters are racists. Yeah well, I’ve been called worse.

WRONG.. MSM hates Trump because he left the HIVE...
Walker don’t like Trump because he’s FROM the HIVE..

I don’t like Trump because he’s a termite..

I don’t want Trump as prez either. I’m a Cruz guy. But Walker is, was and always has been GOPe. He deserves nothing but scorn.

The GOP wanted to play hardball and did. they got it thrown back at them and don’t like it.

Good.

Jindal’s attack on Trump was a shocker for me, not so much Carson, Fiorina and now Walker. Did Perry attack him too? So many Zero %s I can’t keep track :)
