As a Walker supporter, well former supporter now, I’m gonna vote most likely for Cruz. No way I’ll ever vote for Rubio. There words. Gang of Eight! To be honest I’m so disheartened by conservatives, especially the ones in DC, that I now know why so many are considering voting for Trump. It isn’t about ideology in this election next year. It’s about saving the country and frankly conservative politicians have been as complicit in our demise as a nation as their leftist colleagues have been.

Rubio, a Republican presidential candidate, was the deciding vote necessary for the U.S. Senate to clear the final 60-vote threshold and eventually, later this week, send to President Barack Obama’s desk the Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) bill that would fast-track at least three highly secretive trade deals that Obama has been negotiating for years.

“It is more important than ever that Congress give the president trade promotion authority so that he can finalize the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership,” Rubio said in a May 13 speech before the Council on Foreign Relations.

Rand Paul and Ted Cruz voted no yesterday. Jeb Bush also supports the deal.

Rubio gained $3.9 million for that vote.

You don't know that.

That's why I used the word "if" in the sentence you pulled out of context. Words have meaning.

Both Levin and Ingraham used subs in yesterday’s 9/22/ broadcasts. I suspect both got an earfull expressing the position made by “Barbara from Wisconsin” to Limbaugh about his, Mark’s, and Laura’s, exclusive supporting of Trump at the expence of true conservatives. Because as you expressed it, of their excitement of Trump’s ability to excite low information voters by pushing (two key) conservative buttons.

Trump has been walking back from his initial positions and has been getting away with it. For example when the issue of those so called Syrian “refugees” came into play. Trump called for (the) US to let them in. Walker issued a counter; “Let’s hold off we (US) have enough problems” position. Which got buried not unexpectedly by alphabet soup and but also by big CTR (conservative talk radio) .

When it began to unravel that most of these “refugees” were not Syrian, and “males of trgger finger pulling bomb making age. Trump suddenly takes Walker’s position. CTR headliners played Trumps position up and ignored Walker’s. Never even refering to it. Have they “Jumped the shark as no longer a reliable resource for information ?

Why ? Because they blindly saw any opposition to Trump, who has a near matching disapproval rating to Hillary’s, as eminating from the GOPES (Government over the people elite statists) running the Republican party .Thus unfortunately furthuring the campaign discourse based not on conservative principles but on personalities.

Now while you might expect the alphabet soup to push Trumps initial position which they did because it’s part of the regimes agenda. Let us see what they do now.

As for me the same applys to what emerges in who remains on the conservative side and it’s not Trump,Bush,Kasich,Graham,Carson ,Christy,Paul,Huckabee.

Rubio puts me in mind of a loquacious child that talks and talks, never seeming to take a breath, and you really want the child to be quiet.
Sorry to sound petty, but I don’t listen to the president’s speeches now, it would be nice to look forward to them again in the future.

Going to Rubio might not be a great idea as he has about the same chance of winning in Florida as Jeb has. Which is no chance at all!

Have you ever heard of anyone winning the White House without winning the Sunshine State? I have not! It was close during the “hanging chad” election, but even after two statewide ballot counts, the right guy won the WhiteHouse. I know all about that long drawn out ballot count as I was a volunteer here in Pinellas County and counting all the ballots twice was viewed by tons of old Algore’s watching eyes!!! What made my heart feel good was that old ALgore couldn't keep the Florida military ballots from being counted!!

Thank you for your diligence during the hanging chad debacle! We had to go to California and were stuck there over Thanksgiving during all that and found it difficult to even get news about it. We were so relieved when we got back to Wisconsin to find that the good guy won.

Funny thing is, Walker dropped out because he had no money or supporters.

Likely the money was there...They just wouldn't let him have it...Not getting any return on their investment...

So this means Rubio will take Walker’s whole 1%?

That almost puts him in the lead.

"As an aside, I don’t listen to Rush any more."

I haven't listened to him for months, ever since his show became a Trump infomercial.

As an aside, yesterday morning on the early news, a nun was saying how excited she was about the arrival of the Holy Father.

My husband, who had just come into the room, asked, "Is she talking about the Pope or Donald Trump?"

According to my 1st term Congressman, they are not going to overturn the 60 vote rule in the Senate for putting legislation on the floor. Too many Republicans like it, or are terrified that when the Democrats are next in the majority they will push a lot of onerous legislation through.

I say that they should be terrified that the Democrats are going to be in charge again sooner than they think!

To make the 60 vote rule even more ridiculous, there is another rule that they can pass legisslation with 51 votes once a year, so they load that Bill up will all kinds of garbage, hoping to slip it through. Of course this makes it more likely that the over-burdened Bill will either fail, or be vetoed.

We, the People, should DEMAND that they get rid of the 60 vote requirement to bring something up for a vote. Who are they to change the meaning of “majority”? They are subverting the constitution. Why are they afraid to go on record with a vote? Well, we know why. It makes it harder for them to keep lying to us — that’s why.

We also should demand that each Bill be on ONE topic.

In case one of you wants to say, “Well Cruz will get rid of the 60 vote rule”. forget it. He is one of the people who has defended keeping it to my Congressman.

I am not a happy camper right now.

That is the same answer Graham gave in his CNN “children’s table” debate last week.

I cannot believe the freaking sliminess this type of answer provides.

Most, if not all, polls are done by phone. Who answers their phone these days. I get about 25 calls per day that I do not pick up because the caller is unidentified. A lot of them have a 202 area code (DC) so I know they are either pollsters, or fund raisers. I’m an old fogey because I still have a land line. A huge number of folks have dropped their land lines in favor of their cell phones, only. So, who is answering the phone?

McGruff:

Your "argument" that the Arkansas Medusa or Joe McGaffe Biden will appreciate conservative non-votes is wrong on several scores.

First, most of us so inclined vote third party and that is a principled action and expression of conservatism and American patriotism in a very dark era. In 2012 it was my privilege to vote for FR's own Eternal Vigilance.

Second and more importantly, the GOP hack caucus relentlessly assaulted actual conservatives to vote for Romney in 2012 (Obozo in whiteface) because, well, he wasn't Obozo. But he WAS Obozo in all but irrelevant skin color. That argument failed in 2012 and it will fail The Donald in 2016. Unless and until The Donald obtains some knowledge and functioning brain cells, some character and civility, some control over his boorish and ignorant mouth, immerses himself in the rich tapestry of conservatism (which will easily survive bordermania but not the destruction by the acid of ignorance of what remains of the Republican Party) and he is quite capable of learning as an alumnus of an Ivy League Wharton School of Finance at University of Pennsylvania, He just chooses not to learn. The Donald will remain the Kim Kardashian of presidential politics. BIG ratings, no substance whatsoever (except so far on guns and borders) other than a botoxed or siliconed "brain."

Some have posted that without building the Great Wall of Texas and Arizona and California, conservatism will no longer be relevant. Tell that nonsense to veterans of the soviet gulag who waited 70 years for Ronaldus Maximus to put the USSR out of the prisoner's misery.

Holy Scripture and, in no particular order, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, Adam Smith, Cicero, Virgil, George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Andrew Jackson, Ronald Reagan, Calvin Coolidge, William F. Buckley, Jr., Bill Rusher, Joe McCarthy, Aristotle, St. Augustine, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. John Paul II, Margaret Thatcher, Winston Churchill, William Wilberforce, Edmund Burke, Phyllis Schlafly, Thomas Sowell, Jack Kemp (and his inherent personal decency), Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, Douglas MacArthur, Robert Bork, Joe McCarthy, Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas, Thomas a Kempis, Leo XIII, Saint Pius X, Alfred Thayer Mahan, are but examples of our conservatism, our movement, our political commitment.

Arrayed in apparent ignorance against all of this, we have Obozo, anything named Clinton, McCain, Romney, and now (for the most part) The Donald. The Donald does not burden the LoFo's with actual ideas which make their heads hurt. He appeals instead to the mob "mentality." He tells 'em what they want to hear. He panders as he treats the POTUS race as just another "reality show." He gets their attention with his absolute uninformed rudeness and knee jerk psychological reactions.

Conservatism is a rich tapestry of the best in the human race: the best that was, the best that is and the best that ever will be, short of the glory of God.

If I cannot have Scott Walker, then I will have Ted Cruz. If not Cruz, then Rubio or Jindal. Ben Carson is an outstanding neurosurgeon, a fine man and completely over his head in POTUS politics. Rand Paul is a dead issue. Jebbie was never a contender. Carly Fiorina MAY be VPOTUS material. Lindsey Graham, Mike Huckabee, Willard, Pataki, Rick Santorum, Gilmore, not a chance.

Walker had it right as he departed. Minor conservative candidates should get out now to concentrate the conservative vote on an actual conservative (I favor Cruz for that role) candidate.

Immigration: NO Middle Easterners and strict control over the borders. Also review the millions who arrived or stayed illegally and send them to their foreign homes. Get this issue behind us so that we may unite for a conservative agenda behind one candidate dedicated to a truly conservative agenda.

Agenda: Restoration of the US Constitution. The babies, marriage, full religious liberty, RTKBA no exceptions, turn BATF into a private sector convenience store chain, defund Planned Barrenhood, defund gummint edjumakashun (PS 666), defund higher edumakashun (I paid one thousand dollars per yearn for a private unsubsidized college education and my kids have paid $40.000 per year. Abolish Cabinet Departments of Labor, Commerce, Edumakashun, Energy, most of State, HUD, much of HHS, and Interior, "Civil Rights" Division and other mischief making subdivisions at Justice. Move on to abolish such unconstitutional and/or immoral and/or outrageous and, in any event, utterly unnecessary programs and agencies as Bureau of Land Management, Environmental Protection Agency, Common Core, Infernal Revenue "Service," global anything, World Trade Organization, NAFTA, the new "Pacific Trade Agreement" and its offspring, the "United" Nations, the National Labor Relations Board, the US "Civil Rights" Commission, the US "Equal" Employment Opportunity Commission, the lying Bureau of Labor Statistics, etc., etc., ad infinitum ad nauseam. Revise all federal law and regulations accordingly.

I could continue indefinitely but I trust that readers get the point. Who knows? Maybe Trump will understand someday the foregoing and other aspects of conservatism as well and even credibly commit to enact policy accordingly.
