There are some here in FR with such devotion to this pope they believe blind obedience is the only acceptable response.
This visit by the pope seems to have some rather interesting timing to it.
As for his “can’t wait” urgency on “global warming,” anyone else notice he hasn’t harangued China, Russia and India about that subject?
Catholics do not have to have “blind obedience” to this Pope. I’m Catholic and I’m not buying what he’s selling.

From this statement I can only conclude that you and I are reading two distinct FR forums...
I haven't read any comments from any. I know there are some that grit their teeth, and don't write anything -- but I have yet to read any post that claims that because their 'head guy' said it, that they buy into it. Several comments that he is 'infallible' regarding comments relating to his religion, but not when spouting comments about politics and the economy.
Stressing eliminating the death penalty, which has been allowed in the Catholic Church for 2,000 (because the death penalty is allowed by scripture), and is official Church doctrine, and never uttering the word abortion is unconscionable. I also don’t remember him saying a thing about religions persecution by Obama.
Then he put down all that want to stop illegal immigration in the United States. Obama is a happy camper today.
