Kentucky clerk in gay marriage dispute switches to Republican Party

A county clerk in Kentucky who was briefly jailed for refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay couples said on Friday that she and her family have switched to the Republican Party because the Democrats no longer represented them.

Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis, 50, who has said her beliefs as an Apostolic Christian prevent her from issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples, said they had changed parties last week. She was a long-time Democrat in eastern Kentucky.

"My husband and I had talked about it for quite a while and we came to the conclusion that the Democratic Party left us a long time ago, so why were we hanging on?" she told Reuters in an interview at a hotel in Washington, where she has traveled to be feted at a Family Research Council event later on Friday.

I'll bet the liberal media is shocked to find out she wasn't an evil Republican to begin with.

The Republican party isn't as conservative as it once was but the democratic party is in full-blown Marxist, hate America mode.

Told you she was a Dem plant.

Her mother held the position of County Clerk before she did....for about 30 years. Kim was appointed by her mother as a deputy.....and was a deputy for 25 years...before she was elected County Clerk at $80,000 a year. The family had to be loyal Dems to achieve this.

The County Clerk's job is considered a prize....totally administrative....

I'm betting her lawyers told her to switch parties....and that there's also a lot hidden in her background.....besides all the marriages....and her miraculous conversion.

Sorry....something is wrong here....She's already suing the state...ahhhh....the motherload.

That is an awesome sentence you wrote.

It’s almost oblique enough to put on a bumpersticker.

Almost.

"Come on in the water is fine!"

Yes it is. Especially since Boehner resigned. What a great day!

I think you're reading too much into her conversion from democrat to republican.

If she truly is born-again like she claims to be, how could she with good conscious stay in a party that is pro-abortion, pro-everything gay and perverted and anti-American?

She's suing the state of Kentucky because issuing licenses to perverts wasn't in her job description when she hired on. I would too.

McConnell and Boehner’s party? Not sure if this is a good idea at this time.

Hope she’ll become a strong conservative, now that her eyes are fully open.

Wonder where she’ll go in politics.

Do you also think sheriff David Clark is a plant by the Dems? Local level politics can be very limiting based on party.

As I've said before, God certainly is not a Republican (HE does not care about our piddling politics and government schemes - HE cares about our souls), but Satan is either a member, or behind the scenes leader, of the Democrat Party.
Pro-Abortion, Pro-Sodomite, Anti-Marriage, Pro-Pornography, Pro-Euthanasia, Pro-Race warfare, Pro-Class warfare, Anti-Biblical Christianity, ... Satan has a happy home in the Democrat Party.
